Grenade anyone?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, well after finally getting ArmA i was ready to get some kills under my belt and while playing online yesterday i found myself in a spot of trouble.

I was on my own, trying to clear the town of Cayo of enemies when i came across a small group of enemies and a light tank. Now, before setting off to Cayo i made sure i had 4 frag grenades and 2 smoke grenades in case i got into any trouble.

But i couldn't for the life of me figure out how to access my grenades to attack the enemy, or even how to get my smoke grenades out to retreat from the approaching group.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance,

Lucas

Moving as this is not really a troubleshooting question.

There came a manual with your game, in that manual all keys and their corresponding actions are listed. In your case it's the 'F' key (switch weapons).

I think the smoke grenades that come with the game are

intended for signalling (eg. marking a PZ for helicopters or

indicating a target) and not screening (ie. any AI in the area

can still see you through the smoke).

Setting up a little grenade range in the editor (eg. set up

some clusters of oil drums) and practising throwing the

grenades will pay dividends as aiming them in the game

is a bit clumsy.

Hi all

In reply to the question how do you throw grenades.

Press the primary weapon switch key, (Default [F] key) it rotates through all primary weapon options.

For an M16: Single Shot Rifle, 3 Round Burst Rifle, Grenade, Smoke Grenade.

If you have mutiple colour smoke grenades when you reach smoke you have action menu options to change colour.

Grenades are thrown using the fire key (Default left mouse button) just the same as most other weapons.

Kind regards walker

Smoke grenades are as much use as taking batteries instead of magazines. Just to help you, I would not advise taking them unless you are planing on marking something with them (HLS/LZ, ect).

When playing Evo I usually take four magazines, one satchel and the rest AT. Beware of pistols too, they have a tendency of popping up whenever they feel like it.

Experiment with your kit but remember to leave the useless equipment back in the crates, they may look cool but are ultimately a hindrance.

Unless, of course, you use an appropriate addon wink_o.gifbiggrin_o.gif
