BigBadBobNed 0 Posted January 19, 2008 Hi, I've created a dedicated server for me and my mates. We can all get in, but one of our players can't select a player. We get to the player select section, we can all select, BUT he can't. He's using exactly the same version n everything as he can join the server. Whats the problem? I think we're all using the Arma & QG download, but he's using the DVD version. We've checked the targets and start-in on his PC, no luck there. I've checked everything on the server to make sure its all fine. I just don't know what to do. Is it somthing to do with profiles? Do I need a folder for him in the C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\profiles\Users section? We're using Xam and 1.
BigBadBobNed 0 Posted January 19, 2008 Info The Dedicated target is: "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\beta\arma.exe" -server -profiles=profiles -mod=beta;@XAM1.4 -config=server.cfg The dedicated start-in is: "C:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA" HIS game target is: "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\beta\arma.exe" -mod=beta;@XAM1.4 -maxmem=512 and HIS start-in is: "C:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA"
UnYx 0 Posted January 19, 2008 Have you tried the same without any addon ? Have you tried to log-in as admin and assign him by yourself ?
BigBadBobNed 0 Posted January 20, 2008 Yeah tried both. I can put him on a side by admin, but he just sticks at the load screen. We left it for a good 40+ minutes while we'd all loaded.
rowdied 44 Posted January 20, 2008 Does he have any firewall programs running? I've had this problem with zonealarm being on EVEN with permissions set to allow ArmA to access. I've also had problems with windows firewall too.
BigBadBobNed 0 Posted January 22, 2008 Tried it with no firewall running, windows FW disabled and even disabled the firewell on his router. Quick restart on everything, still no results. Isn't anyone else having this problem?!?!
sickboy 13 Posted January 24, 2008 IMHO there is no other possibility than a firewall/blocker alike program. [*] ZoneAlarm [*] *** Internet Security [*] Nvidia Network Manager (Nvidia chipset firewall) etc. etc. Disabling of the protections usually don't even help, only a full uninstall of the software and a reboot does the trick in most cases. There have been reports that even after uninstallation of certain products, the protections were still in place due to left over files, settings and installed services/drivers. How about a complete list of protection software on his computer, a complete list of what was tried with the software, and at least a try of uninstalling any 'protection'-related software, from firewalls to anti-virus to anti-spam to anti-spyware
BigBadBobNed 0 Posted January 27, 2008 No firewalls installed. Windows firewall turned off. When we goes to select player, he see's bluefor, opfor, and independant even though there are only bluefor on our missions. This is crazy annoying.
