maatz 1 Posted January 18, 2008 I got a weird lightning bug on my HESCO objects. does anyone know how to solve this problem? I am using Oxygen O2 from OFP to make models... i did a search but couldn't find a topic with the same issue... thanks so far
Jackal326 1181 Posted January 18, 2008 Might want to try using the NEW O2, just incase thats the issue. More likely, you should select the entire model and press F5 to recalculate the normals, which can sometimes affect the lighting. Might also be an issue with the SHADOW LOD, but you'll know better if/when you try the new ArmA version of O2.
maatz 1 Posted January 18, 2008 hm, the problem is, ArmA isn't working on my computer. and I do not own it, so i think it's impossible for me then to get the new "O2" to work?! but thanks for the tip mate. i will try it out now.
maatz 1 Posted January 20, 2008 well, i tried it with recaclulate normals, but the error is still there... but if I add normal maps to the obejct, the strange lightning disappears left with the normals (makes the texture darker, somehow?) and to the right without, but with the lightning thingy... blackjack-VS- 0 Posted January 21, 2008 Maatz, aren't you going to use normal map in the final model? In that left model you'r using a blank normalmap? Try to mess around with the ambient color in the mtl file, to make it less dark... Other then that, no idea of what's causing that...sory.
Von Rundstedt 0 Posted January 22, 2008 About additional unwanted shadows on model, try to press I to make all faces smooth, sometimes O2 gets funny ideas in certain edges. If that doesn't help, check your shadow lod and make model in there a little bit smaller than LOD1 model. Also if not working on amb. colors, you could attempt to increase brightness on your SMDI (or AS? Doesn't matter) texture, could solve this issue.
