Maddmatt 1 Posted December 13, 2007 what i ment was the reason why BIS wont 100% randomise anaimals is becuase in some cases theres areas you would not want anaimals for example you would not want a rino in a city would you so they allowed the anaimal aspect to be done by the community It's already possible to restrict what type of area animals spawn in. In fact, using the community made rabbit addon, it might be possible to get them to spawn randomly like the birds (like the ArmA 2 rabbits) after some config work. I should experiment with that Edit: Damn, the rabbits need to be animated first.
icehollow 0 Posted December 13, 2007 Quote[/b] ]Sorry If I misunderstood your post:If we are looking to achieve immersion and realism, then animals would help in those aspects. I'm quite confident soldiers/operators have had encounters with the local flora and fauna in almost every conflict we can think of, they might not have always been a problem of course but they're still there. Some of the animals that I think are essential are ones like sharks, crocodiles etc. Another is flocks of birds that would flee from trees when players neared , similar to BF2 . ah time for alittle more detail about what i was on about :P what i ment was the reason why BIS wont 100% randomise anaimals is becuase in some cases theres areas you would not want anaimals for example you would not want a rino in a city would you so they allowed the anaimal aspect to be done by the community but of cuz realsticly theres anaimals in war which war would not have anaimals in it hope i cleared that mis-understanding Ah thanks, cleared up now. Didn't realize you were talking about the randomization lol sorry.
max power 21 Posted December 13, 2007 i wonder who would actually want to make all the animations with the tiger Maybe the dog anims from VBS1 animal pack work for the tiger. Too bad it's not allowed to import them.. MfG Lee Cats and dogs move very differently... even down to the relative timing of their front and back legs. wolfsblut_ 0 Posted December 13, 2007 ... Another is flocks of birds that would flee from trees  when players neared , similar to BF2 . Great idea to detect (far away) enemy-patrouls also by the help of fleeing birds in the air. But to keep the feet on the ground, that would be very complicated. evilnate 0 Posted December 13, 2007 I thought I read somewhere that the birds in arma were a test-launch for how random civilian behavior would be in ArmA 2. Anyone else remember this or happen to have a link?
