KELLO 0 Posted October 12, 2007 hey thanks for the reply....but that doesnt do it for me....its not a port issue... I want to assign a new ip to the server....there must be a way....
Mehmehmeh 0 Posted October 13, 2007 Go to Start > Settings > Network Connections > right click on the Connection > select Properties > select Internet protocol (TCP/IP) in menu and click Properties. Then under General Tab, check "Use the following IP address" and fill it up. Also fill up "Use the following DNS server addresses". In the field named "IP address", you can set the IP you wish that server to have such as i.e 192.168.1.50. You have more then two DNS servers, then click Advanced > chose the tab named "DNS", press Add and type down a third or fourth DNS address... Is this what you had in mind? Pulverizer 1 Posted October 13, 2007 Don't quote me on this but even if there's multiple interfaces on the server, shouldn't the ArmA server accept packets to its ports via any of those, you know, through the magic of the Internets? How and why exactly it has multiple IPs? -connect= is a parameter for clients to connect to a server on start-up.
Hyrax0740 0 Posted October 13, 2007 i run 5 stings of IPs on each one of my arma servers just different ports never had a problem

Thanks for the reply, but I think that would just cause all the programs to run under the selected IP..... Arma defaults to the first ip when the server connects, I know I can change the port and run multiples that way, but other games I run, allow me to assign different IP's as well, whether its in the command line or in the config... Actually you bring up a good topic since now I get your point.. i too have the possibility to use two separate IP's on my PC and i run a server too from times to times. And I'd prefer to use two separate IP's if possible instead of changing ports.... How to do that, I do not know... Hope someone can help out though, if possible at all. tj72 0 Posted October 13, 2007 OK, Install a virtual machine with a virtual adapter and then put the dedicated server on that VM. Vmware can make the virtual machine for you.
RN Escobar 0 Posted October 15, 2007 i've never seen anything that even resembles an IP switch in OFP or ArmA, just because some other games have this function doesn't mean they all have. i don't think u can do what u want with ArmA, ports is the only way to seperate the traffic, as has allready been stated, from my side all i will add is that i have multip[le servers running without hitch using the port switch. IP switch doesn't exist to the best of my knowledge
