Chriz6662 0 Posted October 6, 2007 hi! Is it possible to export my Maya Models to O2 without Problems? Which Format should i use for the export? Is it recommended to use Maya for Modeling for ArmA or should I stick to O2 only? cu chriz
blackjack-VS- 0 Posted October 6, 2007 i use xsi for all the modeling/texturing, then export to o2 in .obj format. i'm sure maya also exports obj files.
rocket 9 Posted October 7, 2007 I use 3DSMax for my modelling, Mudbox and Maya for baking my textures, and O2 for compiling all the layers together into a cohensive file.

charonos 0 Posted October 9, 2007 You can export from maya to obj and import obj to oxygen2. Watch out for normal orientation on individual segments of the object you import as they are reversed. You can reverse them back in o2. Also you have to check invertx in the import options to get the correct axis orientation. UVs are imported nicely to o2, which makes texturing much easier in maya than doing it in o2. The textures have to still be assigned in o2 to the faces though, as the obj import only brings in a name-placeholder of the shading group for some reason and not the texture file. Mass texture name change is advisable.
