bigdog632 0 Posted September 19, 2007 has it caused the crash with the error message?
-duke- 0 Posted September 19, 2007 I'm using these BETA Drivers on XP 32 and it's solved all my 8800 GTS (640 MB) issues. I no longer have texture loss, low poly count models rendered nearby, texture flashing and my night vision works without giving me the feeling I'm in a disco. I thought I'd add that I have between 10 - 15 hours playtime accrued on these drivers and the only issue that remains is fogging and some matted looking colors upon spawn (MP). This is by far the best ArmA has looked and played for me since purchasing the Morphicon.de online dl.
troop 0 Posted September 19, 2007 has it caused the crash with the error message? Yes, still. (on my setup) I can play for hours and hours with certain, not maximum res/viewdistance/detail settings (sweatspot) but if I change anything to higher/more than these settings, the crash will occure still. (flying much faster than on foot) The memory error (VidMem not released properly) on 8800s is still present with these drivers. NVidia said, it would be fixed with an september driver release;..however, this one is not it. - Apart from that, this driver performs *very* well and has got nice IQ too. Not only with ArmA, but with every other game I tried with it.
sickboy 13 Posted September 20, 2007 Fog has already been explained and put on the fix list for 1.09, so I dont understand why you even mention it. Anyway. Too bad the bug with 4GB on Vista64+Hotifxes aint resolved. Wondering if it's a Vista bug or ArmA bug..
SWAT_BigBear 0 Posted September 20, 2007 Anyway. Too bad the bug with 4GB on Vista64+Hotifxes aint resolved. Wondering if it's a Vista bug or ArmA bug.. I say Nvidia's fault....after all...4gig memory worked fine with 158.24 drivers and ArmA.

I say Nvidia's fault....after all...4gig memory worked fine with 158.24 drivers and ArmA. They changed the memory allocation stuff since 163.xx and the Vista hotfixes. It is possible that ArmA has a problem with this as it expects something different, even while the OS aint supported I filed the problem at nvidia.com anyway, let's see if it yields anything. zulu1 145 Posted September 21, 2007 I've got fog with XP and DX9.0c. This new driver didn't seem to make any difference.
Mehmehmeh 0 Posted September 21, 2007 My ArmA won't run with it for long.... Rolled back to older drivers.
sickboy 13 Posted September 21, 2007 I've got fog with XP and DX9.0c. This new driver didn't seem to make any difference. That's because you can't resolve the fog with a driver update, only with a shader update in the game, which is planned for v1.09.
