efefia 0 Posted August 24, 2007 Seems to me alot of people here have idealized BIS and are terrified that Codemasters will actually make a good game. Sensible soccer 2006, I need say no more.

You should say more, because you obviously totally missed the point. Some people aren't afraid that CM will make a bad game, they are actually afraid CM will make a good game and ruin BIS, iow, as one person said these people idolize BIS. No you totally missed the point there should be no need to elaborate (but just for you) Sensible Soccer 2006 shows just how capable Codies are of carrying a successfull franchise, ie: they're not. 4 IN 1 0 Posted August 24, 2007 CM have a history of ruining games name, which not even EA can suppass them
Second 0 Posted August 24, 2007 CM have a history of ruining games name, which not even EA can suppass them Has to agree that i've "seen" the same thing. Well still, i'm holding my thumbs up for CM Maybe OFP2 will take bit different aproach than ArmA.
Yoma 0 Posted August 24, 2007 The "community" was in decline long before ArmA was released, which is the natural way of things. To expect EVERYBODY who bought OFP to buy ArmA is a logical fallacy. with that statement your giving me even more rights.. vets got fed with OFP, when ArmA came = total disapointment (for some) (ARMA2 = (ARMA1 pics + some text)) => ARMA2 (disapointment^2)? Well i still think that anybody that has experienced some heavy war stuff in ofp/arma and actually liked it will come back to Arma because... There still is nothing else like it. Hey it could be that Codies tries to keep some of the stuff that Bis had. But... -Ai capabilities like Arma: i seriously doubt it. -Depth of weaponry/detail/accuracy: i seriously doubt it. -An extendability like Arma has modwise: i seriously doubt it. -Destructability of terrain like arma has (houses, trees, poles, signs etc etc), combined with the same scale Arma has: i seriously doubt it. -Commandable squads with the same options Arma has: i seriously doubt it. Sure they now have a nice cgi trailer online... Hmmm when was the last time i played a game that i actually liked that had a nice trailer before it was released? I might consider looking into OFP2 after I see some extensive ingame footage. Sure it's easy to create a vehicle in a game. But making you feel like it's an actual vehicle is a lot harder. Same goes for the entire experience. What do you guys think the odds are that their game will have independant head movement from body, the feeling that it's actually you running ingame, not some bloody floating camera. How about TrackIR support? Based on years of hyped gamereleases i think: OFP2 will be a boring piece of ... compared to what the BISmasters bring us. The worrying part is: Codemasters will most probably sell more copies of OFP2 then BIS sold of Arma. In our modern consumer society: MINDLESS CRAP RULES. Even more nasty: half of the idiots posting on OFP2's forum seem to think that OFP2 is AN ACTUAL SEQUEL TO OFP. Posting stuff like: "I want the possibility for JIP ADDED!" or "Please CHANGE the flightmodel so planes fly like planes." or "I want CTI to be a default gamemode." Oh boy will these guys be let down when they get yet another halfbaked semi "open" corridor shooter the likes of Far Cry. I profoundly hope that they DO NOT get satisfied and that BIS will overcome. BIS don't give up the fight! Vets, come back we miss u and i need some serious backup as 3 t72's a bmp and 2 squads are tracking me. BRING AIRSUPPORT! PASTOR 0 Posted August 24, 2007 I don't actually care! Hopefully they both will release fantastic games. The way I see it, if anyone of the two (BI and Codemasters) manages to release the perfect Milsim I will be very happy and choose the game of my liking. Two developers, two different games. We the community wins since they both have to make the game as best as they can in order to beat the competition. Note to BI: Arma2 have to be a lot more than than the current bugfest we have today if you are to beat Codemasters this time around.
liljb15 0 Posted August 24, 2007 What in the makes you "seriously doubt" all those things. Honestly I don't care either way I'm going to get OFP2 when it comes out.

If BIS's ArmA II turns out to be the best.... WE WIN! If both are great.... WE WIN! The only way we lose is if they both suck... then yes we lose... but I think its safe to say ArmA II will not be worse than ArmA at least.
