ricoadf 0 Posted August 20, 2007 I've been seeing units that have been converted to ArmA from OFP. So far I cant find a place that tells how to do it. Törni 0 Posted August 20, 2007 There are atm no comprehensive tutorials. It has been all learning by doing and trial and error. It really depends what kind of addon you are planning to convert. Wiki is some help, but there are huge holes in it. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
jasono 0 Posted August 21, 2007 I guess you would need to rewrite the configs and redo the texture paths. Once you get that working I dont see why you couldn't have it converted. I've never done it, only retextured ArmA units. I believe you can't convert OFP human units as they use a different skeleton in the ArmA engine, and therefore wouldn't work. .kju 3244 Posted August 21, 2007 It depends a lot on what you are doing. Scripts and "plain" config projects like "ECP" are the "easiest". Static objects should be fairly limited effort as well. Vehicles are more complex. Even more are infantry units (new skeleton stuff). Hardest are islands and custom animations (impossible?) right now. Also it depends if you wanna have uber l33t textures (normal and bump) or if you say, gameplay, most fps and functionality is more important! Animations (rtm) are possible with ofp anim, you just need correct models (slx people, pistol, nvg, bino, primary and secondary weapons in mlod) and to create new pivots (no need for translation as selections names are in english). I can upload my ofp anim folder with pivots, p3d and french translation (selections) but I don't want to send pm to ask autorisation to the authors of ofp anim and p3d that I use, pm me if you want.
