baddo 0 Posted October 18, 2007 You should probably have a look at arma.RPT file. I have it here: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\ArmA\arma.RPT Replace <username> with the username you are logged into when you play ArmA. On my computer it is a hidden folder so you probably need to enable "show hidden folders" from file explorer to be able to find it. From that file you could get some clues as to why ArmA crashes. ArmA.RPT file has date & time written every now and then, so you can check if you see any correlation to any log entries in that log file compared to when your problems started. jasono 0 Posted October 18, 2007 Last time this issue was mentioned, I remember a firewall/router was blocking access to the game and ArmA crashed. I suggest trying to open port 2302 on your Router and in your firewall add Armed Assault to your allow list.
eihort 0 Posted October 23, 2007 I just had this hit me out of the blue and the issue seemed to be solved by going into ARMA and then starting a single player game, exiting it nicely, and then all of a sudden it liked playing multiplayer again. Go figure.
eihort 0 Posted October 23, 2007 Hmm... now all of a sudden that doesn't seem to work. I've also completely deactivated my firewall and set up the router so it doesn't block any ports (was never set up that way in the first place) This is bizzare. And again, this all of a sudden just started happening. Dual Core Pent 805 D 3.2ghz 2 gig ram WinXP Dx 9.0c SoundBlaster ZS2 and other things of which I can't remember that might need to be included

Did you try what Baddo said. That would tell you the problem. It's a good idea to delete arma.rpt, then doing the crash then opening it up so you know the exact error. If you are unsure then copy the error into a quote box or something and we can try and help you better.

eihort 0 Posted October 25, 2007 Okay. I got it to work. Once. The only correlation I have right now with how I got it to work the first time is that I loaded a single player game, *saved it*, and then went into the multiplayer area. I loaded one multiplayer server of Evo Blue, fooled around, worked fine, and then quit the server. I tried to join another server and it crashed to desktop. I speculate that it might have something to do with the scene being rendered in the background because after I saved the game, I got another scene besides the small island fly over, and it worked. Anyone else have any thoughts?
