Connection Problem

Recommended Posts

I have a wierd problem with playing MP.

CAN NOT CONNECT to any servers located in my country.

It allways gives me "connection faild" or "connection with host is lost" or hangs me up in "wait for host".

Another country's server , it works.

I have to say, and what I know is

... I have an original ARMA disk.(from 505GAMES)

...Sometime it connects.

...I've tried thing in this forum.

...I am not BANed or Kicked from servers.

...I know about router or firewall well , and I play alot of anther games working perfect.

...I got 8 of 10 checked in checkbox when ARMA start.

(I dont know what it means.)

...ISP is not blocking any packets from my PC.

Does any one have some idea?

PS.I am not good at writing , reading english. SRY if somthing is wrong.

So you can join all servers except those in your own country? That's weird. What country are you in?

Also, what exactly happens when you try and join one of those servers? Does it kick you off, or does nothing happen at all?

You should answer us what country you are from so we can pinpoint

our opinions about your problem.

Thanks for helping me guys.

I live in Japan.

I had a constant connection-problem and

figured out that , it was hard to connect in my counrtry's server.

(My friends playing ARMA dosn't have these promlem , it look like it's only for me.)

There is 3 or 4 servers running 1.08 now(in my country) , and I also patched up to 1.08.

Most time , it gives me "connecting faild" when I selected server or

"connection with host have been lost"

when I connected to server , and wait for a while.

But I can join smooth and play good on another (country's) server.

Wiered thing is , sometimes I can play normaly in my country...

I am not using any custum addons or skin or sounds.

Also sever is not using too.

I use DSL (Download-4M, Upload-1M).

I tried re-installed my WinXP and installed only ARMA

with out any router or firewall , but the same.

I would contact your ISP and tell them your issue.

Also ... be sure that your WinXP or software firewall allows Arma.exe.

Other than that ... move to USA or another country.

Do you have the same problem with other games or programs? It's a strange problem.

Could you perhaps try to ping to the server you are connecting to, or to do a tracert to it? Of course for that you'll need an ip-adress or DNS-name(don't know if you can find that)

I think im getting a similar issue. Sometimes i try to connect to games but i just get connection failed. Other times joining is a breeze but after 20-30 mins of play i get the 'red chain' in the bottom right hand corner and then a 'received no messages after X number of seconds". Whats weird is sometimes i can be playing for 2 hours until the problem occurs. The server stays up as my mates have no trouble at all and i don't get d/c from the internet as i stay connected to team speak. I have ADSL2. I heard someone talking about D-sink issues or something. Could that be my problem? Does anyone else experience this?

Any other information i could give to help solve this?

cheers

Same problem in France connecting to my favorite server in Germany. "wait for host" and Arma itself freezes.

The only solution I found for the "wait for host" forever message is to connect through Armalauncher with the direct IP, this works all the time.

Doesnt fix the connection lost though.
