I really wanna try 1.08 but need activation code

thats strange...when i installed the 1.08 patch i didnt need to re-activate at all...i have the original german download version...i purposely kept holding off from using all the beta patches since the official 1.05 release because i didnt want to use up my activations so i waited for 1.08, and to my surprise i was never asked to enter in any code for activation!

i've had to give my activation code for first install, first upgrade (can't remember what number that was), then for version 1.05 - so all used up!

I can't get into the game without reactivating!

I bought the us version download. I didn't have an activation for 1.08 but I did for the 1.07b patch.

hello there,

if you dont recieve an email within one working day then i advise sending another email and also check to see if there are any other email addresses that you can contact.

I had alot of issues with my sprocket activations,until I was given the correct email through this forum.

Then I got a reply very quickly.

Try doing a search on this forum of the email you have and see if others have solved the prob.

Sometimes its better to contact someone direct rather than a "holding emailbox" like "info@somecompany.com" as many organisations neglegt to set them up or look at them with any regularity.

TBH, this is completely unacceptable. The only people this stupid system inconveniences are the paying customers. Sometimes it just asks me to verify the code for no good reason and there goes another activation, and honestly, having to wait over 24 hours for a new key is extremely inconvenient. I didnt know the German digital download version was Starfarce when I bought it and if I had known, I would have never bought it.

It seems some European distributors still believe in this Draconian garbage that masquerades as a protection. It is not welcome and will cost you more sales than piracy ever will. I'm very unhappy about this situation as I am going into my second day with no game simply because of this idiotic protection scheme.

PS : Same thing happened to me with Lock-on (Also Meta-useless). It took them 5 days to get me a new Key along with an e-mail about how I shouldnt be changing my hardware so often.

That is some awesome customer service right there, they basically called you a total idiot. I for one won't ever use them because of that.

I actually bought a download copy from them, downloaded twice as it was corrupt the first time and then had a problem with the install. Their customer service never answered my emails until a week later when I asked for a refund, funnily enough I received an email confirming the refund within 12 hours and the money was refunded on my credit card within two days.

I find it very ironic that they had such an efficient refund process yet their 'sales' service is woefully inadequate.

They gave you 3x more activations. Same thing happened to me. I asked for 10 but they refused. I'm going to have to keep mental tally now and when I get down to 1 activation I'm going to ask for the number be put up to 3 again. I don't want to have their broke piracy protection to strand my software over a weekend or longer.

That doesnt even make sense as the authentication for the digital download versions that use Starfarce is done online and cannot be "cracked".

No I never gave them any reason to assume that. Just the usual Starfarce/Metaboli attitude towards customers. When Publishers like Ubisoft drop Starfarce in favour of their customers, you know it is affecting the bottom line. Starfarce is a Draconian insult to paying customers and whats even more pathetic is it doesnt stop anyone pirating the game. It just inconveniences you and I, the paying customer.

Metaboli gives new numbers (activation times) only when previous numbers have been used complitely. I asked for more when i had only 1 left, but they told to spent last activation before they give me new ones.

Luckily ArmA didn't ask activationcode when i updated to 1.08. Hopefully not ever again activation is needed when patching the game.

thx god i saw a few "key activation problems" threads before i made a decision about getting the dl version or not.

id be pissed to wait 3 days to play a game i payed for.. they should make it like steam where ur activation key is ur username and password, then they can bann accounts that are being used by multi users(as piracy protection and abuses). totaly unacceptable

I'm waiting 4 days now for an answer and more activation keys.

Meanwhile, I downloaded the US version and that doesn't work either. It won't take the serial. What a bunch a dung.

So now I have 2 versions that don't work.

I've had the German version since 1.01, changed OS's twice during all the updates, of course I need more activations. Maybe I'll forward that email another 10-20 times and see if I get an answer.
