Arc-Demon 0 Posted June 14, 2007 Since I've heard about ARMA and its realistic nature, i have wanted to get it. I just have one problem, I have no idea if a lot of people play it online. I wouldn't want to buy a game that no one plays. I also want to play against REAL people, not A.I. bots, so I wouldn't be big into co-op servers. If not many people play against each other online, I probably wouldn't be interested in ARMA. So please, could someone tell me the status of the current multiplayer community? Thank You. ck-claw 1 Posted June 14, 2007 hey, check the top right of this site! Has a handy ppl playing/server gauge! http://www.armedassault.eu/news.php
Arc-Demon 0 Posted June 14, 2007 I noticed this was a european website. Does this meter also monitor U.S. Servers? Also, it doesn't tell me how many servers are non co-op.
Tom_Anger 0 Posted June 15, 2007 Arc - short answer is many US players are looking to get this Team vs Team oriented. Coop is ok, but I am all about multiplayer as well. I PM'ed you with some information which I hope will help. Coop is decent to get some of the new players familiar with the weapons, vehicles, etc. We like the Evolution and Revolution missions for that because you can play them at your own pace. BigRed 2 Posted June 15, 2007 The other thing that all US players could do is join a international squad I am in New Mexico and have played in one for almost 7 years since the OFP release. To me it is the only way to go if you want to challenge the best in the world. Very few times have lag/dsync been a issue normally only when any players has a crap connection ie. 56K/ISDN I for one will say that ArmA Team competition is missing the US players big time. Hitman 10 Posted June 15, 2007 It's not the US players Red, it's the leagues that we're missing. I think the only considerable league at the moment is ECL and the name says that is for europeans. I don't know their policy of getting US teams in, that might be a bit difficult due to the times that they play on. We'd just need more leagues to get the US guys in. I hope Onlinewarfare isn't dead yet.
Infam0us 10 Posted June 15, 2007 Download a program called Q-Tracker, you'll see that ArmA multiplayer severs are very alive playing PvP
