Wozza 0 Posted February 16, 2002 oer! I don't know that much about computers in general, but my basic specs are- Celleron 500mhz processor Pine (never heard of it? Me either) TNT2 M64 PCI with 32MB SDRAM (PV-T03B) Video card 320MB RAM I dunno if anything else really matters (sound doesn't bother me too much). I don't have OFP yet, I'm waiting for the video card to arrive. So seeing you complain about your system gets me wondering if I will even be able to run the game... If not, what to do? Get more RAM? Get a better card? Or just go broke getting a better processor? Er...any suggestions would be most appreciated. Cheers- Woz
Damage Inc 0 Posted February 16, 2002 You can run the game. I used to run it on a Riva TNT
Wozza 0 Posted February 16, 2002 *dances around* Thanks man! I first played it on a friend's system, he has 900mhz, 512MB RAM, and other sickeningly high specs (compared to mine) Dammit, I played bomber man once, and did the standard FPS styles, potting away at a tank with the rifle. SKID! STOP! PIVOT! Oh. Oops. And then I died of lead poisoning =P So I'm totally addicted, I played it for an hour non-stop, then blew much cash on an upgrade. And now I'm gibbering, so I'm gonna shut up and go away. Peace! Or War, y'know, whatever tickles your fancy -Wozza

amos m 0 Posted February 16, 2002 Celeron 400, 160 sdram, gforce2 400mmx 32mg, 15". About the only really decent part of my pute at the moment is the keyboard and mouse I just got. Cordless laser mouse and itouch keyboard package by logitech. I'm really happy with it. Oh, and the other good part of my pute is the section of the hard drive where ofp is installed. So that makes up for it. And if I can run ofp on this machine, most ppl can with whatever machine they have these days. Runs fine for me until I try to play a mega mission with say 30+ guys running around on it.
kegetys 2 Posted February 16, 2002 I tried of on my other system, it has a 266MHZ Pentium II overlocked to 300MHz and a 2MB 3D Ati Rage Pro video card, and I was amazed that ofp actually runs on it. Only 640x480 16bpp though, and the fps was around 20 when wandering on the maps alone and around 10 when there were some enemies The textures werent very pretty as you can see from this pic: http://phobos.linux-site.net:10080/rage.jpg
nordin dk 0 Posted February 16, 2002 I'm running a 700 AThlon, but I think when I have problems, the main reason is I only have 256mb RAM and a Geforce256 Ususally it runs ok (not with high graphic spec's though). I wanna get a new processor, a GF4, a 21'' monitor (or even better, a projector and a big-ass screen) and a girlfriend. I know I can't afford all 4 of them, so how should I prioritize? Random 0 Posted February 16, 2002 I'm running OFP at 800*600 on a P2-400 and Voodoo 2 with 256MB RAM. Looks pretty ugly, but it's enjoyable. Can't wait for an upgrade though (when GF4 is released), so I'll be able to play the game properly.
AndyZ 0 Posted February 16, 2002 I was using P2 350 (@392) with 128MG and GF2 GTS 32MB (2x AGP). It was really nice to play OPF, but to maike it nicer I moved to Athlon XP 1600+ on ASUS A7V266 (VIA KT-266A) with 256MB DDR. Now ith rocks! AndyZ

FetishFool 0 Posted February 16, 2002 Well, most people have a better video card than me at least! Chan, 400-watt power supply?? That's only a dream of mine. They're just way too expensive for me. I wanted a 350-watt power supply, and that put my budget over the line!!!
dayglow 2 Posted February 16, 2002 I've got the overclock king system going right now duron 700 o/c 1000 512mb ram geforce2mx o/c 220/200 (up from 175/166) Can't wait for my new graphics card. I ordered a geforce3ti200 from a store a few weeks back and they just called me and told me that they are unable to get the card, but will replace it with a geforce4 when they get them in a few weeks, so I'm getting a geforce4 for the price of the ti200 COLINMAN
john_mcclane 0 Posted February 16, 2002 - Athlon 900MHz @ 1GHz - 640MB PC-133 - ATI Radeon 64MB DDR VIVO - MX300 sound card You don't need an Athlon XP 2000 to have a great gaming system. My setup runs Flashpoint in 1024x768x32 with high end detail settings VERY smoothly. I've also run many of the latest games, including Medal of Honor, which is quite a system hog, and I had no issues whatsoever. If you have around 700MHz and a good 3D card, you shouldn't have any problems if the system is properly configured (correct drivers, etc.).
Chan 1 Posted February 16, 2002 Fetishfool, I got my Aluminum case+400watt case for a really cheap price! It was a low-low price of only 89.99! I looked really hard on pricewatch.com to find this gem! If you consider getting one, you better do it quickly before their supplies run out! Good luck! Kekk 0 Posted February 16, 2002 Hey, atleast he had textures. When I tried OFP with my old comp (P-2 266, V3 2K and 64 Mb RAM 66Mhz), I didn't have any grass textures at all, and thought it was winter. I realized that there's something wrong when Kozlovski (or was it somebody else) said G for grass when the soldiers were playing ISpy. There.
