xnodunitx 0 Posted June 3, 2007 Good point, it would take alot of dynamics...hmm....well we could always try the next best thing, a somewhat, not fully dynamic vehicle, simlar to..well pretty much what they did in halo2, except have parts that act with terrain. It is possible I believe, I know the physics in Arma as more then what we currently see, we just can't make use of it right now.. I'm not convinced we can't have things like tire being blown on and bouncing away...as a matter of fact I know for certain because deanosbeano posted a video of it. Looking for video, will post if I find it.

I was responding to this quote. Notice the language mentions impact, not bullet holes. Sorry. "Impact" is already drawn in the form of dust puffs when a vehicle or object is shot, so I believe the post refers to actual bullet holes.
xnodunitx 0 Posted June 4, 2007 Well we can speculate all we want but it isn't really going to help, best to just wait for the patch to come out and see for ourselves.
wolfsblut_ 0 Posted June 11, 2007 In v1.08 my video-options are setting to low. Is this the reason why i actual dont see any bulletholes at vehicles or houses/walls?
opteryx 1562 Posted June 11, 2007 In v1.08 my video-options are setting to low. Is this the reason why i actual dont see any bulletholes at vehicles or houses/walls? Yes, shading detail should be set to normal or higher if you want bulletholes.

thy_raven 0 Posted June 11, 2007 the bullet holes don't seem to last very long, i know this is probably to reduce lag, but just looks odd. i was spraying a Helo with a saw, and bullet holes were appearing, but around 2 feet behind my new impacts the old bullet holes were sealing up, terminator 2 style. is there a way to increase the ammount of time the hole is drawn for??? bravo 6 0 Posted June 11, 2007 i noticed if you fire to certain part of wall and then fire in other relativelly far from last wall those last bullets will remain in the 1st targeted wall. The bullets dots just disaper when you fire relativelly near to those dot holes. I think its has potencial for future patchs
smellyjelly 0 Posted June 11, 2007 I every object can only hold a certain amount of bullet holes. Still, I noticed that some objects don't support bullet holes at all.

jasono 0 Posted June 12, 2007 I noticed my Video settings had to be above normal for them to appear at all. And after 2 burst shots, the first burst fades away. They don't look like bullet holes either, just round holes drawn depending on the side of the round. It's ok at a distance and it's a nice feature still. 4 IN 1 0 Posted June 12, 2007 it serves only one thing: to tell where your bullet hits
smellyjelly 0 Posted June 12, 2007 Yea, I like them, but I can't really play with shaders on normal. If BIS would make them appear in the next patch even with shaders on very low that would be awesome.
maddogx 13 Posted June 12, 2007 Damn, and I thought there were no bullet holes, because I've been playing with shaders on low. I'll definitely have to try it out later.
Maddmatt 1 Posted June 12, 2007 I like having bullet holes, but they could use a bit of detail. Also, the limit of bullet holes for buildings should be increased quite a bit. The way they shrink before they disappear doesn't look very good, I'd rather have them disappear instantly than shrink like that. Some normal mapping on them would also help. Still, having them is a nice improvement
KJAM 0 Posted June 12, 2007 Testing on the aluminium wall of the garage in Ramadhi I discovered the following Shader Settings: Normal - 7 Shots and the first had dissapeared or at least gone quite small. Shader Settings: High - 14 shots and the same as above happened
