M16 ironsight fills too much of screen!

Whenever I start a mission with an M16, I have learned to drop it as soon I come across an AK47, because the friggin ironsights take up so much of the screen (when zoomed) that I can't see what's going on... Yes I could aim down at the ground so I could get a clearer picture of my periphery -- but the AK47 ironsights is so much shorter that it's easier to just trade.

Why do you suppose BIS didn't lower the M16 ironsights a little?

(The AK47 ironsights intrude halfway up into the "optics" screen, but the M16 intrudes at least 2/3 of the way)

I prefer the M16 ironsight. you can actually see the target better when you are aiming certain mass. the AK ironsights cut off the entire lower half of the target.

M16 ironsight is better for me too, but the AK ironsight is good too. I don't have any problems.

I love the M16 ironsights. I sure would like an ACOG in the next game tho. Uptodate and current tech.

I think the AK 74 is better because they seem to be about equal in thier accuracy and they both have 30 round clips with single and a 3 round burst mode but the Ak has a full auto mode. The full auto is all that makes it better for me, and yes I actually use full auto when im in a sticky situation and the enemy is at close range.

I mentioned ACOG cause I would love the next FP to be with more current tech than what was around in 85. Like the U.S. Land Warrior system. No not Nova Logics crappy game, but a sim of the Land Warrior system used in the U.S. today.

This idea is for a game somewhere down the road. lol

I think they have the M16 sight cover more because they wanted it like it really was and realistic. Isn't that one of the best things with the game, that it's realistic?

First the AK is too bad compared to the G36, now the AK is too good compared to the M16...try to understand that if all the weapons were the same there would be no point in adding weapons to the game!! The weapons are different and thats whats fun about them, otherwise U could just pick any weapon and dont give a shit! Pick the weapon you prefer and dont come here saying some weapons aren´t as good as others, we know that already. The M16 sight is different then the AKs and the Kozlice sight is different, and G36 and AUG and M60 and HK and Bizon and M21 and Dragunov. They all have different sights, I dont want them to look the same, variation makes it more fun. If you think the M16 is harder to aim with then the AK 74(like I do myself), then maybe you need to practise or just switch as soon as you can. There is no point in complaining about the sights, instead you could make a poll and see wich one people prefer, but that has already been done, so maybe you should just walk back and forth infront of the white house with a big sign complaining about the M16 sight (since that hasn´t been done before).

This forum is becoming to negative, everyone is complaining about stuff, there should be more post saying how good OFP is(without comparing it to MOHAA or GR perhaps...).

OFP is the best game I have every played I love everything about it except some bugs (wich don´t mess up the game THAT much). I like to be able to lie down on a CTF guarding the flag with my Dragunov for 30 min without anyone even trying to steal it(even though its boring I can do it if I feel like it). When I´m lying there in a bush 300 meters away from the flag I suddenly feel that I need some action, so I rush down to my base, get in a M1A1 drive towards the enemy´s flag, blow up a couple of T80s on the way, get the flag, steal a Mi-24, get shot down by a Shilka and run the rest of the way through the woods with Helicopters over my head and infantry chasing me. There is no game cooler then OFP and I will probably still be playing it in 2-3 years. Some stuff about it needs to be fixed, but unlike other games, the problems will actually be fixed and we will be getting new weapons and vehicles all the time. And the map making has no limit to what missions you can make, you can storm a village with a platoon of M1A1s, or snipe out a coupple of officers and then run like hell with 2 T80s and 5BMPs on Ur tail, or even if you want to you can make a mission where you are just a stuntman on Maldens airbase jumping over 3 5t trucks and through a series of explosions!

Depends on the situation, of course. Sometimes I adore the AK, sometimes the M16 is a better choice. Although those two are completely different weapons, the M16 is a ladies gun IMO. Oh.. is this where I turn around, run and hide J/K.

The M16 is a very accurate weapon, like IRL. For short range battle with short rounds tearing the enemy apart, I would choose the AK over the M16 anyway. Shoot an enemy with your trusty M16 and he will look at you and say "... aoo! WHY did you do that?" *GRIN*
