Chip360 0 Posted May 26, 2007 It still doesnt work for me  I follow all the directions just as they say, I even added another mod exec command line in the shortcut (and it boots up fine) while this one doesnt Are yuo sure I dont need the origional Sara Lite? Or something? What is that? The standard sahrini map? I ges im gonna just have to wait till you change the name of the island so I can just add it like normal and not have to overwrite anything  I wish u luck with that, If u need help just look at the Afghan maps as an example, they are under a new name... Edit: I just forgot that the textures overide the norm... O well, it was worth a try (Or should I say several...) Thanx for the island, Im sure it looks superb.. ~Blake

Back to the Winter island, great stuff sled! Opf winter stuff was excellent so heres to the future in Arma!
Devastador 0 Posted May 27, 2007 Excellent work!!!! thx thx!!!
Sled88 0 Posted May 27, 2007 Thx to all... To your case: You are loading a lot of unofficial addons oin your original addonfolder of arma. Maybe you try to pack all unofficial addons in another folder. Then try to use Winter Sahrani. The path is right, the folder is also correct. You are using Version 1.06... The american Version of Arma... Never tested with this but try to make it like I said!
Chip360 0 Posted May 27, 2007 Ok, will do, and btw, when I try to start it with the beta (or just try to start the beta for that matter) I get a config error, then something about a shader...
Sled88 0 Posted May 28, 2007 Yep because the beta uses new stuff in the plants.pbo I think.
Sled88 0 Posted May 29, 2007 Hi guys. I've got a bad news... It seems that we are not able to change the buildings on the official islands. I just replaced the big hotel house with another nordish one... but the nordish one now sticks in the ground... Any ideas?
eddyd 0 Posted May 29, 2007 i dunno but maybe hereArMa or ask deanosbeano
Curatalo 0 Posted June 1, 2007 256 MB!!! Jeeeesssseee! lol The other islands were only like 9 mb and 14 mb ;-(!
Sled88 0 Posted June 1, 2007 yeah but the other islands have no new textures and plants!
bravo 6 0 Posted June 1, 2007 its my turn to test this beauty.. downloading now ---- i bet its lag free for sure, except the handle leaks.. edit: @Curatalo, LOL your a funny person.. i understood it was the entire island, and not just south. Note that sara.pbo island is 747mb, so i wouldn't expect less then 250mb edit2: tested this addon and its only the south part of sara. Should be mentioned in the download link
Sled88 0 Posted June 1, 2007 The size consists of the plants.pbo and saralite.pbo! You have nothing else to say than its the south part? :P
bravo 6 0 Posted June 2, 2007 You have nothing else to say than its the south part? :P i actually have, its not much but.. i remember in OFP that in winter islands when we walked in the snow we could hear the respective steps sounds and also the foot prints in the snow. In this addon i can not see nor hear like a snow ground. Maybe a suggestion for a next version. The rest i like
ck-claw 1 Posted June 2, 2007 Will have to re-check,but i thought i could hear the crunching foot steps-but not all the time?
Sled88 0 Posted June 2, 2007 Footsteps should be included of the original ArmA.
bravo 6 0 Posted June 2, 2007 Footsteps should be included of the original ArmA. lol, they are included.. but not as if you step a ground with snow. Dont know if you ever played OFP but if you did not, try and look on the winter islands from OFP. You will know what i mean. It has a different sound and very particular, different from the ones we hear in ARMA normally. edit: check this OFP Winter Nogova for OFP (Not for ARMA): download to compair the sounds (15.6 MB)
ck-claw 1 Posted June 2, 2007 I know what you mean bravo! something so basic as the snow crunching just made it so atmospheric!
