For the moment i can't release that because First : it's unfinished and some textures are really ugly... And because the good textures are from the TWM_Const pack (from the old afgan everon !wink_o.gif. So I need the author permission... Or, if somebody have a great heart, it would be helpfull if i found a texturer in order to help me. Or... If somebody know how to find free afgan textures... It would be helpfull also !

(It would also be great to be part of a mod team... whistle.gif )

try these;

http://www.mayang.com/textures/

You'll find many textures that BiS used for ArmA on this page wink_o.gif

BTW; what did you model these buildings in? I can do some really nice stuff; unfortunatelly only in SketchUp; was wondering if this programm can be used for ArmA modelling?

Yes !

I also use Sketchup. It's very easy to import a sketchup model into Oxygen, then into Arma. The only things you need is the demo of Sketchup Pro (to export your model in 3DS) and the free program Animator. In animator create a new model. Then go in object, import. Then select in Option the 3D dummy data... Then export in 3DS. Then open your 3DS with Oxygen.

Then you need to make some work with Oxygen (texture, create different Lods...).

cool buildings, but in the first pic, the mapping for this texture is not good.

im2jr5.jpg

and in the second pics, the hole in the wall is not really realistic, you should imagine, how would be the wall after bombing, explosions etc. same thing for the building in the background of the third picture.

Well, i reckon you said in your first post that some

textures are not good and that it's not finished yet

but i hope you meant that you didn't add some detail

to the buildings like that hole which D@nte mentioned.

If it's your first work on buildings - heads up but for

ArmA standards the buildings need definitely get

improved.

At the moment they're looking even simple for OFP's

standard in modeling detail (i don't mean the textures btw).

Btw - no offense meant with my critism, just trying to

help from buildingmaker to buildingmaker  smile_o.gif  by pointing

you into the right direction.

Also i've heard that even in Afghanistan they use to

have something like a door - may it be a carpet or a wooden

board, but something you should make there.

Let them stay open or make them broken but no doors

in a country where everybody wears big beards might be

a lil' bit strange.  tounge2.gif

:edit - after watching the pics again i must say that

you have doors there and it was the pic in D@nte's post

which brought me to the door point. Though this building

still looks like there has never been a door inside.

And last but not least here's a gift for your:

David Gurrea's textures

Check these textures out i'm sure you will find some

nice ones over there. smile_o.gif

I'm not offense at all by your critics because it's really constructive.

But at the begining I just would like to make a building pack in order to let others customers place them on the afgan island. So I would to release a pack very quickly and to offer a lot of simple objects.

I was also trying to find teamate to help me in this hard work (especially for a beginner).

But now I dont know if I'm going to make a quick release. Maybe the community want something better, with more complexity. So I think i'm going to rework all that to make a quality pack.

Why making addons if there are not ambitious ??

smile_o.gif

Chris Death are you involving in some building pack project ? I think im the first to make new building for Arma. But I can be wrong. So if a talented and "old" addon maker post on the forum pictures about very complex and beautifull building, it would be very great. In order to show us the right direction. Back to work guys ! We need to be ambitious. We need to be talented ! We need to create something really uncredible !

an example of destructed house (this is a ww2 house). you can see that i have imaginated the destruction (rubble,

wood boards ). you could do the same thing, but in the afghan style. smile_o.gif

keep it up. smile_o.gif

rnrj9.th.jpg

btw: you could add a normal map for the bricks. i have a tutorial somewhere which could help you for that. smile_o.gif

Im always willing to help anyone who want to make buildings...

Im pretty busy atm but am also making buildings for islands... Cant say I am focussing on afgan specific houses, but are easy to make and when its easy it stays fun. Complex stuff is fun while you make a few tests but hell in the end to do it correctly.

If interested PM me
