Chopper landing scripts like in OFP?

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to make scripts like the ones available in OFP which make the choppers slow, land, unload, load, etc. more realistic (without turning backwards, etc.)

No, because the pilots are members of the knights who say Nii!!

That is how they land, perhaps its possible to "force" the dir of the helicopter.

I guess their direction is depending on the ground and etc.

I've seen AI pilots landing "normal" i.e. with the nose pointing fowards.

Some others "strafing" and some... reverse landing

If you wait till my scripts finished, there will be.

Basically it's an update of Robino's chopscript from OFP.

Just ironing out some bits and pieces.

EXCELLENT!!!...I will be looking foreward to it.

The AI choppers are almost useless without some good landing utilities.

doesn't work....they still turn sideways sometimes. And if you try to make him land under fire, you can forget it.

Yep, that makes them land better...but...

If they are under fire, and happen to take enough damage that the helicopter needs to be abandoned, the crew will get out in "careless" mode and just stand there to be shot up.

The OFP scripts I am speaking of included the utilities to stop/slow the chopper ofer a specified distance.

They DID, actually set them to "careless" as well...but the crew would go into "combat" mode if the abandoned the chopper under fire.
