Meathead 0 Posted April 29, 2007 Im thinking of buying this card for ARMA: EVGA GeForce 7600 GS / 512MB GDDR2 / SLI / PCI Express Maybe even 2 so i can run Duel. I was just wanting some feed back if anyone has had any bad experiences with this card while running ARMA or if anyone has heard any RED Flags about em in general. I need some good feedback before I go make such a big arse purchase thx in advance, Meat
Heatseeker 0 Posted April 29, 2007 There is a PC discussion thread in off topic for this purpose, anyway instead of buying two of those i would rather buy a single better card. If you are on tight $$'s and looking at mid range look at the current generation instead, the 8600's are out and should be better performers and a more future proof investment. Check prices, benchmarks, comparisons, etc. I really wouldnt recomend that card at this time. edit: http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=Videocards

dwringer 45 Posted April 30, 2007 and a 3.4 GHz P4 won't run quite like an old lady with even an 8800GTS 320, but the key is , as has been mentioned before by some of the devs even, to TURN DOWN SHADER DETAIL. it's not fair. i know the 8800 is supposed to eat everything else alive when it comes to shaders. but the cpu overhead makes it pretty much prohibitive :\
