Rebel Man 431 Posted April 27, 2007 Hi I'm Really nerves about Armed Assault Review on GameSpot GameSpot-ArmA If i can sign up, I Will Give it 10\10. But I Want to ask why there are bad review over there . Thanks
jaffo 0 Posted April 27, 2007 Tbh with a game like ArmA some of those scores are to be expected as, like OFP, it's kind of a 'marmite' game; people tend to love it or hate it. Even with some of the extreme scores on there, the average is still good and it's had decent previews on GS so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

nth1739 0 Posted April 27, 2007 Pay no attention to the people who think they know how to review a game after playing the demo for 15 mins. Armed Assault has a steep learning curve and it takes days/weeks to fully explore all it has to offer. I have been playing for 4 weeks now and still discover new facets everytime I play. OrLoK 20 Posted April 28, 2007 hello Also remember, many folks playing demo/US version may be expecting a standard FPS, which arma is def not. IMHO I'd rather keep the Gamers out and the Simmers in, in the community. (Im talking kiddy CS'er types, I think you know what I mean ) I think the sim community and those like minded folk will be aware of Arma and what it is, warts and all. And like myself ,with something like SH3 comming out, I'm going to find out all i can before making a purchase judgement. Im not going to trust just one review. So, the fact that it gets a bad review doesnt bother me. As long as it's a fair criticism, not an unbiased slagging. Although it may bother dev's and investors Thats my 2 pence rgds LoK

4 IN 1 0 Posted April 28, 2007 i think he mean Silent Hunter 4?(which is as buggy as ArmA BTW)
stabiz 0 Posted April 28, 2007 Hehe, I think we will find many subsimmers in arma. The only games I play are Armed Assault, Silent Hunter 3 and 4, and racing sims like rFactor and GTR2. I think the reviews of ArmA will be generally good, though. I remember my "wow" when I got it.
robert(uk) 0 Posted April 28, 2007 Wow, there are certainly some mixed reactions in there!!!
4 IN 1 0 Posted April 28, 2007 i always wonder why they only put "x people find this comment useful "
-Puma- 2 Posted April 28, 2007 If u look at they're top 10 list, U can see why Arma isn't appreciated there. All the games are in the top 10, because of the hype they did before launch+ I think the dont know a game, wich isn't hyped/advertised. They think that PC games are dying, so they only give a proper go on the Console ported games, like HALO2. And I couldnt care less about some scethy reviews, as long as I like the game. shataan 1 Posted April 28, 2007 "They don't appreciate it because it is not another Battlefield bunny hopping game." Gotta agree with this.  The thing is.... there are very FEW sims now. And reviewers are not the same peeps of old/bygone days who regularly play sims.  The only Reviewers whose povs I would take with any seriousness at all might be guys like SimHQ.  Only a mil combat game reviewer can review a game like Flashpoint or ArmA properly. Cause it is interesting to them.  Ya can`t take a pure kiddie/quaker game reviewer and expect to get a realistic evaluation of ArmA. Those peeps will not have a clue what to do or think of this kinda game sim.  lol              Btw? BF if anyone brings it up... Battlefield is NOT imho a mil combat game. It is more like a Quaker with mil combatlike skins.  It is too bad we don`t have more sim review sites ala SimhQ. Then we`d see proper review evaluations imho.   I am buying ArmA this week for sure. sixfour 0 Posted April 28, 2007 Personally i think ArmA is a very good game, that at the same time is highly flawed and really *need* to be fixed.
OrLoK 20 Posted April 28, 2007 Hello @ deevius: Sorry, I ment Silent Hunter 4, which as pointed out is a sub sim. (not got it yet, but willdo, bugs and all - sound familiar?) Sh3 though is damn fun. Its a shame that Arma is getting bad reviews, but on the other hand if you asked me to Review a deathmatch CS type game, I'd probably give it a terrible one, especially if it was marketed as a sim, which i suspect has happened in reverse with arma. Oh, if I was asked i would give Arma 6/10 at the moment. (Although It will prob stay on my HDD for the next few years, unlike any other game I have installed.) With the release of subsequent patches then ill creep up to a 7/8 out of 10. If some major Arma/Ofp engine gripes are adressed, then Id easily go up (and over! 10/10. Regardless, still a damn good game/sim rgds LoK
Rebel Man 431 Posted April 28, 2007 I will vote ArmA as 7\10, But i will Vote 10\10 for become a good review, Some guys see the review, And he don't want to buy the game, Because for bad reviews. Can't wait that patches .
