I know they fixed the fog so that may have a serious impact on the latest patch

I did something similar, checking FPS in both versions. Run the same test on both versions (1.04 and 1.05) without grass and your results might be the same (they were for me), suggesting the difference is because of the grass layer.

Then again, my test was looking at static scenes. Moving around may expose new inefficiencies in loading textures and what not. Still, try without the grass (terrain detail low, on 1.04 and 1.05) and see how they compare.

Not only without the grass, but also with PostFX as Low they are compare etc..

But it just also means that performance is NOT similar for vv. 1.02/4 and 1.05.

Please post yr testing results also.

High Post-Processing is extremely hit to performance in v. 1.05 (up to 50% (even 75% sometimes) decrease fps).

Why?? It was not in the previous versions.

To BIS: Can be it somehow connected to ATI-drivers? Is it only ATI-cards problem?

@AG

I know you're wanting an answer from BIS, but just for more information on ATI vs Nvidia for this problem....

....I'm running an NVidia 8800GTX and I get the gnarly slowdown with High Post-Processing with 1.05.

In 1.04 I've got most everything ratcheted up to "Very High" with High Post-Processing and it runs like a champ.

I also seem to have a performance hit with 1.05. 1.04 ran better.

The grass layers might be part of the problem.

I hope to see 1.06 soon, hopefully it improves performance.

Hello,

I have never see that a game with a patch that give you a lose of perf : -20FPS for me.

Config :

MB : Asus P5N32-E SLI

CPU : Intel Core 2 Duo 6600

RAM : Kingston 2Go Ram

GPU : Geforce 8800 GTX

V1.4 Vs V1.5 i lose 20 FPS so the problem is for nvidia also

See you and hope they solve the problem
