Colt.1911 0 Posted February 21, 2007 Using the right mouse button to move forward does not work. This is a novice mistake, but somewhat understandable since Bohemia Interactive is an amateur company. I found this in less than 5 minutes of gameplay. I expect this title to be full of bugs. And while I have your ear, let me just say that this title has way to many keys. Bohemia should have made some controls interactive, or used an overlay while in vehicles etc. Instead there is this awkward interface that took me a nearly an hour just to setup controls. And by the way, for some strange reason Bohemia felt compelled to reserve right control. Hey thanks alot thats my crouch key. I have no Idea how I will play this game. stop catering to stupid wasd no one uses that retarded control setup.
Frans 0 Posted February 21, 2007 You need to set ctrl-alt-del as your fire button, then it'll all be fine.
Colt.1911 0 Posted February 21, 2007 Thanks for the reply, I hope this isnt a joke. sure sounds fishy to me, but I will try.
Colt.1911 0 Posted February 21, 2007 well simply holding ctrl reveals that this is a prank, and frans is retarded. Any (decent) suggestions? Or does this title need a patch right out of the box?
Planck 1 Posted February 21, 2007 Just as a matter of interest, before I go hide in the next room and laugh, what makes you think that the 'right mouse' button should make you move forward.......unless you programmed it that way and also at the same time removed the setting for this button to do the other things it does...like optics for example. If you really really want help form anyone on these forums, including the devs then I would plug in a better attitude module. Planck
Colt.1911 0 Posted February 21, 2007 check up-in-ya, that module might be there! yes oh brilliant one, I mapped it that way still it doesnt work. geeze I really really didnt think I would have to tell people here that I had remapped the control. I assumed that would go without saying. I see you are as bright as the devs. thanks anyway.
Colt.1911 0 Posted February 22, 2007 I can see by responses that NO ONE want to accept this is a problem. This is SO TYPICAL. they have your money, now they forget you. crappy programming. they seemed to support retarded wasd well. who cares. NO ONE uses wasd. //edit// when will a patch be available for this title right out of the box. crappy programming.
troop 0 Posted February 22, 2007 ^ This isnt a problem;..its just the game; it is nothing (enjoyable) for you. Good thing, you took it back already. Prevents you from getting higher blood pressure and heart attack. 'NO ONE uses wasd.' Yeah, right.
tophe 69 Posted February 22, 2007 haha this was hillarious! "nobody uses wasd" Also.. classic "This is a novice mistake, but somewhat understandable since Bohemia Interactive is an amateur company. I found this in less than 5 minutes of gameplay. I expect this title to be full of bugs." Why don't he just write "I have no patience what so ever... everyone is a poopynose... " I wonder who the novice is.. :P .. Go play Super Mario instead... unless there's too many buttons for you to keep track of. Check every single game for default mappings. hehe.. you'll see that your mapping has sold.. NIL! While amateur noob novice BIS sold, lets see... 2 million last time. Lol.. this thread made my day! Duffers 0 Posted February 22, 2007 stop catering to stupid wasd no one uses that retarded control setup. I fail to see how a certain control set up can be 'retarded' (a serious affliction affecting many families) or as to how you are the spokesman for every FPS player out there? *Sigh* But if I can bite my tongue and help you I will. Â It appears you may have found this out already (Planck has mentioned it a bit); if you map a key already in use you will have to find and manually remove that same binding from its original key. Â i.e. If you set your right mouse to FORWARD, you will have to find the mapping for ZOOM and 'delete' the right mouse association with it. Seeing as you think you've tried this and it doesn't work I would suggest setting the controls back to DEFAULT, even if it means deleting your PROFILE and creating a new one. Â If you still don't want to do that, open the .config file and change the keys manually. Â Changing the line: keyMoveForward[]={17}; to the value of 63357 may work but you'll have to experiment. Â I'm sticking with W,A,S,D thanks. *EDIT* Although checking the GENERAL section of the forum (where you've spammed with the same complaint) it would appear you've taken the game back so I wouldn't expect you to reply here. Duffers, I've been having the same trouble as was reported by Colt.1911. Â I use the left mouse button to move forward and right mouse button to move backwards. Â I've used this setup in FPS games for as long as I can remember. Â With Arma, however, binding the right mouse button to move backwards just didn't work. Â I verified that it wasn't already bound to another command, yet It still didn't work. It wasn't untill I ran across your post in this thread that I managed to get it working. Â Your suggestion of editing the profile and setting <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">keyMoveForward[]={63357}; Â helped! Â (although for me I changed "keyMoveBack[]). Just thought I'd post this incase anyone else runs into this issue. Thanks for the tip!
