duach 0 Posted December 20, 2006 Hey, sometimes when im playing i get the reciving screen come up during normal gameplay, just driving around or in combat, it sometimes wont happen for ages, and other times keep happening, it lasts about 15 seconds. Its not so bad on SP but on MP its a real pain, iv updated my drivers etc and lowered GFX settings but it makes no difference. Anyone know how to fix it ? theclown 10 Posted June 7, 2009 Hi, I've got the game since release and didn't have the "Receiving"-Bug such often since I have patched to final 1.01. When I play Evolution Marines 0.2 I get the blackscreen with the message hardle every 5minutes. If I press on "Respawn" or get killed, the games goes on normally at the respawn-point. My sys: 6000+ 2gig RAM 4870 (1gig) vista sp1 25mbit connection Whats the problem, do I need more memory? Its unplayable if the fuckin blackscreen comes every 5 minutes... Second problem: When I make a restart, the PC cant find the DVD (which is already inserted)... Its the german release. So I have to open the drive and close it again. Then the PC can read from the DVD. A friend has the same problem. So its not just because of my drive and he tested it on Vista and on XP...same problem! R3dBuLL 10 Posted June 7, 2009 I have exactly the same problem. It even happen sometimes in other missions, but very rare. Others can play that mission w/o any problems. I don't know if it is mission related or arma2. What are ur settings? Maybe it belongs to a specific setting. Btw: Sometimes if I open the map, the bug just dissapear. Does not work always. My settings: Resolution: 1280x960 Fillrate optimizer: 88% (bug happens at 100% too) Visibility: 1600 Texture detail: Normal Video memory: Normal Anisotropic filtering: deactivated Terrain detail: Low Object detail: Normal Shadow detail: deactivated Postprocess effects: Low My System: AMD Atholn X2 4800+ (2x 2,5 GHz) 2 GB RAM ATi HD3870 (512 MB VRAM) Win XP Pro SP3 16k DSL
theclown 10 Posted June 7, 2009 1024x768, Fillrate: 125, Visibility: 3000, Texture: Normale, VideoMemory: High, An-Filter: Normal, Shadow: deactivated, Postprocess: Normal, Object: Normal, Terrain: Normal fuck it, I will install XP now:)
sabre4809 0 Posted June 7, 2009 This happened to me in arma, might be vid memory. So try turning texture detail down. And I know this sounds weird but for me in ARMA turning it UP fixes it, so try up aswell.
Noraf 0 Posted June 7, 2009 had that on a nvidia crad, updated the drivers, problem solved for me ( now running nvidias latest drivers, hope they are stable with arma as well ;) )
theclown 10 Posted June 7, 2009 Mhh, no the drivers are Up2Date... Ive now installed WinXP32 and tonight I will give it a try. Hopefully it works better then-.- And after 1.02 is released I will order a new DVD from the publisher. Disable securom or fix the DVD!
R3dBuLL 10 Posted June 7, 2009 I don't think installing Win XP will make a difference because I have XP and bug happened to me as well. I found serveral other posts about that bug in the internet and everyone who has that problem has just 2 GB RAM like I have. May that the problem? Not enough RAM? lee_h._oswald 0 Posted June 7, 2009 I had this problem extremly often on chernaurus. After using Kegety's blur/bloom fix, I never saw the "Recieving" Screen again. MfG Lee
theclown 10 Posted June 7, 2009 Damit wird ja die Grafik auch dramatisch anders oder? Die ganzen "Schlier-Effekte" sind dann auch weg. Nicht das mich das stört....
lee_h._oswald 0 Posted June 7, 2009 This forum is english language only. Yes, the graphics will change a bit, but only the ugly blur and bloom is gone. With Kegety's fix, ArmA2 looks more like a simulation again and not like a "3D-shooter" anymore. MfG Lee ;)
theclown 10 Posted June 7, 2009 You maybe got any comparison-image? Would be great, so I can see the difference
lee_h._oswald 0 Posted June 7, 2009 The best way is testing it by yourself. The fix is very small in file size, easy to "install" and easy to remove. This picture was made with the fix activated: http://lee.plankton.ch/A2_Pornobrille_g.jpg For me, the graphics are more than ok. MfG Lee
S!fkaIaC 10 Posted June 7, 2009 It is a very severe bug for me, it happens very often to me, of course always in the worst moments.
theclown 10 Posted June 7, 2009 hehe, now ive testet it for a half hour on a 50/50 server. great, no laggs, no errors. i think its related to the memory. but tomorrow I will have more time to check it
R3dBuLL 10 Posted June 7, 2009 It works? Hmm I like blurr and bloom. But until BIS fix those bad shaders and stuff there is no other solution ... k, I give it a try
R3dBuLL 10 Posted June 7, 2009 Ok, tested it, doesn't work for me. Still getting it.
theclown 10 Posted June 7, 2009 I played now hardly a hour without any lags and error. With and without the tool. Maybe you guys have to clean your sys also. The mod has a problem: some server refuse it...
S!fkaIaC 10 Posted June 8, 2009 Hey Clown, maybe you mix something. This thread is about that "receiving bug". It might be something related to video memory or whatever, but I did not experienced any lag before I see the "receiving..." screen.
theclown 10 Posted June 8, 2009 I know what the thread is about, ive created it. But as I said, since ive got clean XP I have no lags AND no "receiving"-message... not 1 time!
R3dBuLL 10 Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) The weird thing is that I can't open the menu anymore BUT I can still look at the scrores, write and see the chat. I need to kill the arma2.exe to get out of the game. Hmm ... it's getting really annoying and makes it unplayable for me. S!fkaIaC 10 Posted June 9, 2009 I know what the thread is about, ive created it.But as I said, since ive got clean XP I have no lags AND no "receiving"-message... not 1 time! Well, I meant not mixing laag caused by maybe something else with this "receivng". I have XP 32 SP2, but I would never make it "clean". You might never experience that issue any more since you do not come into a short resource bottleneck situation triggering this "receiving" where the game can not recover from. theclown 10 Posted June 9, 2009 What I also relized was that (i use a G15 with display) when I got the "bug", I had 25-30 frames. But every 5-10 seconds there was a "refresh", a beating. 5secs ~25frames, then 1/2sec 0fps, then again 5secs 25fps... Im quite sure that you will have the same issue. Anybody who got the bug and a G15 keyboard, please test it with Fraps.
S!fkaIaC 10 Posted June 9, 2009 Ummm, I have a G15 caused trouble with DirectX9.0c, had to goto 9.26 to make ArmA2 starting at all. Will monitor that...
