cbfasi 4 Posted November 20, 2006 I could say I am proud to bring this but I am not as its unfinished work. It does show the level of detail I hope to work to and beyond for Armed Assault... If you find more bugs then let me know as I may still correct them, it all depends on time and what I am feeling like... From Readme Quote[/b] ]Features 1. Specific use of the 5m tide.. the real location DOES have the same… 2. Big beaches, much like the real location, BOTH heavily used by surfers (Westward Ho and Saunton Sands) 3. Large RAF base, dating prior to WW2!! 4. Army Training Camp (Fremington Camp) 5. Narrow Country Lanes 6. Smooth road curves (many many new sections added to make this possible) 7. Solid hedges that even tanks don’t like (this is REAL! 8. East Yelland Coal Power Station.. The Idea.. A number of years ago I had a vision to do a map of a location near to where I lived at the time, the eastern edge was less than 5 miles from my home at the time.. How it started .................. stainer 0 Posted November 20, 2006 Great news! I've been to Fremington Camp with the cadets (yeh laugh all you want) and thought it was a shithole, but I'm sure you've made it look a lot better than it is!
cbfasi 4 Posted November 20, 2006 Great news!I've been to Fremington Camp with the cadets (yeh laugh all you want) and thought it was a shithole, but I'm sure you've made it look a lot better than it is! It looks almost as bad in OFP..., just cleaner.. AND I was a Cadet Instructor there a few years back!
stainer 0 Posted November 20, 2006 Yeh I've just loaded everything up and the layout is pretty much perfect, even the zip-wire tower, great job!
hellfish6 7 Posted November 20, 2006 Great job, CBFASI. Certainly the best airfield I've seen in OFP. The island has that rare ability to make you feel like you are on a new, exotic location as opposed to most of the user-made islands that just feel like rehashes of Nogova. Theres tons of custom content worth exploring and the airfield is perfect for practicing your take offs and landings. I look forward to the day that CBFASI can finally be satisfied with it, but until then this is an excellent preview of his talents and of what is to come. Thanks for releasing this version to us. colligpip 0 Posted November 21, 2006 HAHA It is very odd flying around in ofp on this map as I live in Devon. I landed near one of the houses and really wanted to go in for a cup of tea. Good work!!
cbfasi 4 Posted November 23, 2006 Now its out does anyone think its worth continuing this map for OFP or would you rather wait and see it get resurrected in Armed Assault??
stainer 0 Posted November 23, 2006 I think it's probably best if you start working on an ArmA version, OFP can't have much more time to live.
cbfasi 4 Posted November 23, 2006 Thats what I am thinking, also the lack of new bugs is quite pleasing as it says I getting something right..
