berghoff 11 Posted November 11, 2006 If you got a 8800 series. 7x00 and lower doesn't support it, it is introduced in 8800 series so I've read in hardware reviews.
bravo 6 0 Posted November 11, 2006 So now the game is out.. does it work with nvidia cards? this question need a frame, gold frame
Speeeedy 0 Posted November 11, 2006 Like Berghoff says. If you use the 8000 series yes it works (HDR with enabled AA that is). Otherwise no, it has nothing to do with Armed Assault, but with the hardware limitations on the Nvidia card. May i recommend you use the search option if you have questions like these because this topic has been discussed before

swtx 42 Posted November 11, 2006 How about an ATI X800 series card? This card supports HDR in Day of Defeat and HL2. Will it support HDR in Arma ?
Messiah 2 Posted November 11, 2006 i think people got confused by the topic title - AA refers to anti aliasing not armed assault. on older gen cards (as stated) you couldnt run HDR and Anti Aliasing at the same time - this was a hardware limitation. On the newer cards, you can. Armed Assault will work fine on any card that meets its minimum requirements, or should do. You'll just have to choose between HDR and AA... AA gets my vote as HDR is always overdone.
Kev 0 Posted November 11, 2006 hi folks, i was an ati user, now i'm using an nvidia card. the HDR is supported by 6600,6800,7600,7800 and up to the 80xx series. also its supportet by ati x800 and x18xx series. so how the hell are people saying hdr can not be used under 80xx series? thats not true. dm 9 Posted November 11, 2006 so how the hell are people saying hdr can not be usedunder 80xx series? thats not true. Because HDR AND Anti-Aliasing running TOGETHER are NOT supported on pre 8xxx cards from nVidia, and pre-x19X0 cards from ATI. Edited to make grammatical sense. Caaahl 0 Posted November 11, 2006 Man, thats gonna be a hard decision. HDR looks really atmospheric, but without AA is a real loss of quality.... (got 7800GS)
Messiah 2 Posted November 11, 2006 HDR is overrated and generally overdone - just look at oblivions glow in the dark sheep. AA is far more useful in my eyes, unless you forsake AA by increasing the resolution alot and then use HDR... will probably nuke your card though. I have a 7600 GT and i wouldn't want to bother trying.
