sparky 0 Posted September 3, 2006 Hi, it's been a while since my last post... i'm working on the units nowdays. Try to make my infantry pack, so here are some screens from my upcoming Mechanised Infantry. It's almost done. But i'm not releasing them yet, since i want to make a mechanied pack release. With the M113A1 and the Mercedes Jeep.... The units are based on VBS units, and are around 4000faces (fair enough i think for ArmA too). Also the weapons will be replaced with the correct ones (HKG3A3 and not the HKG3A4 as in pics)... the unit in O2 some in game screens, with Sanctuary's animations used. sparky 0 Posted September 3, 2006 Yeah off course......... it's cause of the polys 23277faces (m60 count is way too much for D3D hWT&L) ofp can work below 9000-10000 faces with D3D HWT&L, i'll rebuild it when the time comes, don't worry that's easy, also m60 was my 1st model, so it was natural to be abit buggy. The M113 that you see in that pic is also high poly, that's why the pics are only with D3D without WHT&L and DXDLL, but the public version that i'll release it will be 100% compatible, trust me i learn from my mistakes. sparky 0 Posted September 3, 2006 well, to end this discussion before gets bigger, these are pics, and aren't going to be released in the final version, at this time i'm creating a new collection of faces with mine faces and friends of mine, face textures...... so don't expect to see VBS stuff in game. also i said VBS based, that means that i rebuild the model, based on VBS model. But that units aren't released yet, you have too wait a bit around october, by then i'll have them ready. cause now i have a lot of real life stuff to deal with. The pack will contain. MechanisedInfantry Units -Soldiers - Officer - Regular Infantry Soldier M113A1 Mercedes MB200 series jeep with mg3 mounted. as soon as i have more things to share i update that thread, but for any questions or suggestions fill free to post them here here are some more pics, feauturing the capabilities of the m113 - Full accesible (roadway LOD) - Modified geometry, so that the vehicle can be used to fight from in it (example you can be inside with the ramp open and fire your riflem, as soon as you close the ramp, no bullet can hit you i also would like to inform you that my mod is looking for new members for some help (scripters, modellers ) if someone is interested just send me email or pm me. sparky 0 Posted September 3, 2006 thanks for the advice nephilm, i was very concern about that, in that pics, in fact head-hands ar the same as VBS models. The whole other model is different. example (the ACU is build in the model, and legs and arms, are rebuild to be more rounder, avoiding that cornering staff. But the released version will be changed. Â Both have good military forces...I'd rather make fictional battles then see them fight in real life. Plus Greek military units would be good to see in peacekeeping missions and anti-terrorist missions. Â I hope you guys use my Mod's Arab terrorist/civilian pack for fictional (or historic) anti-terrorist missions. Â Looking forward to perhaps some Greek SF units. (P.S. sparky 0 Posted September 14, 2006 A small update. VBS head and hands has been removed. In addition i have made my own head based on BIS OFP head, (it was to square to put it in my units). For hands i use OFP hands but retextured with my own (hand as texture). You can see in that pic a comparison. 1t) is the OFP head 2nd)mine and 3rd)VBS head The bad news is that new head needs new textures till now i have one as base, but don't worry i'll make a full library with all my friend faces . But i'm really considering the fact of having 2 versions one with my head and hands and one with standard OFP head and hands. And is up to the user which to install. but this is still a thought, the decision will be made based on the requests. OTHER CHANGES -New boots (taller and retextured) -Some shading (pants, and arms), maybe not the final i have to run some more tests.... -added dust in the bottom of the pants, in the knees, and in the top-back anyway... here are some screns with the model, how it looks now in game. I don't like talk about Greek-Turkish war mod in OFP. We should fight against terrorism on the world. That's my idea.
