I am completely lost

I have been a very big OFP fan since the very beginning... but because of some personal reasons I have stopped playing it for about 2 years... last thing I remember was BI announcing they were going to make OFP2. The End.

Until now... I have a new pc and lots of spare time, first thing I wanted to know was 'what about ofp2'. But damn, after browsing some sites I have four questions:

What is Operation Flashpoint 2 ?

What is Armed Assault ?

What is Game 2 ?

What is Next Generation PC Game ?

I have searched the forum, and I found a lot. But most of the things I have read don't really make sense. BI is making OFP2, while at the same time codemasters is also working on OFP2 ? And BI is working on 2 OFP's ?

So please, help a noob out!

Operation Flashpoint 2 is apprently going to be a project game by codemasters

Armed Assault is ofp1 sequel: ofp 1.5 basically but its better than that now?

Game2 and next gen pc game is both the same thing: based on VBS2 engine

yes, Game2 was originally going to be OFP2. and I'll always consider it as OFP2 what ever it will be called in the end.

Yup..shame codemasters have the rights to it,but I seriously doubt they can get this so called "ofp2" to be like true OFP or Armed Assault,afterall,its not just another simple shootem up game.

Well when Game2 was still called OFP2, it was originally planned to be vietnam era... however we all know it is now a near future game.

When it comes to Codemasters OFP2.... I don't really think they have said what era it will be in.

Operation Flashpoint 2 is just a name, that Codemasters own.. Since BIS is now seperate from Codemasters, they can't use the name, thus :

Armed Assault, which is basicly an improved Operation Flashpoint, and will (hopefully) be released.. well, the release date was moved to Half-1 2006, which if I'm right ends in a week today..

"Game 2" is the same as "Next Generation PC Game", which may be called Armed Assault 2, and will be released the second half of 2007 I assume..

Basicly, if BIS were still with Codemasters, Armed Assault would be Operation Flashpoint 2, "Game 2" would probably be Operation Flashpoint 3..

ArmA is kind of Flashpoint 2 rather then Flashpoint 1.5 as we originally thought, if you take into account Flashpoint:Elite witch is an advancement of Flashpoint 1. This would mean that Game 2 could be called Flashpoint 3 and operation Flashpoint 2 we could call Flashpoint 4...hope that clears things up a bit.

These guys should all get together and make "Grognard Publishing Inc"  Poor, poor ignored sim community.  Get those hardcore flight sims out there, those under the radar combat games...  I mean, how is it possible that I see a game like "Jet Fighter Smash Brothers" on the shelf, but not exOperation Flashpoint 2?  I mean, I really liked VietCong, didn't have quite the realism, but the feel was right, and the SP was amazing.  

If you could have a group like that, not a "game publisher, but a Sim Publisher" then the Grognard name would mean the same to Grogs as EA used to for Sports.   I thought that was what IDEA was... but doesn't seem like it.
