nephilim 0 Posted May 22, 2006 @ch_123 Quote[/b] ]BTW, the detail is amazing....Looks like SCARs Sukhois have some competition! hm i dont think so.. scars su30mk looks like treated with somre iron rod. the polyflow is very crude and as a matter of fact the topolgy/geometry suffers very much the nice textures might compensate this but putting that smoking hot saab gripen on the same level like scars su30 is simply ridiculous.. you simply can see how well the gripen is researched. the polyflow makes you see that its aerodynamic in germany youd said "das geht ab wie´n zäpfchen" however very neat gripen btw are those textures photo based or scratch made? looke pretty nice
echo1 0 Posted May 22, 2006 I can understand what you mean from a modeller's point of view, but to the ordinary pleb like myself, who wouldnt judge a model by the wire underneath, the Su-30 is one of the nicest planes in OFP
Gux 0 Posted May 23, 2006 btw are those textures photo based or scratch made?looke pretty nice Well, thanks! They're made mostly from scratch. There are some photographic elements in small details and the cockpit. The gripen.com image database was an enormous help getting all the details right. I have some 300 high res pictures that I looked at; there's never enough for a complex machine like this.
EricJ 759 Posted May 23, 2006 While on the other hand doing Flanker models will be a pain for me since I probably got the majority of the online shots, and a few reference books, but that's not enough by a long shot, but then again, it's gonna have to do. echo1 0 Posted March 30, 2007 Sorry to dig up a slightly old thread, but any progress on this? Is it just going to be for ArmA? EDIT: Just PMed Gux (probably should have done that in the first place. Apparently he's finished it and its being released for ArmA pending the release of the modding tools)
