Wilco 944 Posted August 10, 2006 Another update and bug, I think it's from a selection problem.
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted August 10, 2006 Oh yeah - I'd try looking at your "bricho" selection, I'm fairly sure your armour and webbing should be in that. And I agree, TQB's gear is great, but WTF is all that crap on the back of the MICH? Looks like he's storing some black plastic back there. Are the straps that big? Or has TQB modded them to be something like SF would do?
Wilco 944 Posted August 10, 2006 It's stretched a bit because he's bent over, but usually the main support straps are thicker than regular ones. By the way, get on MSN.
Wilco 944 Posted August 10, 2006 Update: Added pouches and fixed the vest bug. Also switched out headgear for some of them.
nephilim 0 Posted August 10, 2006 that guy has some funny shoulders looks like the vest weights a ton! try to fix that by using some wheight on the selections. also the nvg mount looks a bit strange to me usually the MICH has a clip that goes right under the helmet. also the size looks pretty strange.. also try to mathc up the colors of the vest/pouches. they look like theyve been grabbed on a blow out sale.. slightly off topic.. someone mentioned to make mercs with multicam.. woder if anyone noticed that 2 of my mercs use multicam uniforms.. and gear/vests of the same kind... Shoulders: Yeah, the shoulder problem is I believe the animation, but I'll look into it. NVG: Thanks for catching that, I saw it earlier but completely forgot about it. I personally don't think the MICH size looks small, if it does than the TQP SF have the same problem Pouches: I'll see about matching them up, but some guys have mixed and matched gear, so I figure it's no biggy. nephilim 0 Posted August 10, 2006 i didnt mean the size of th mich this looks alright i mean the nvg mount it somehow looks odd in its size get some pics over from google usually helps

BlackScorpion 0 Posted August 10, 2006 Wow, that's cool... love it. Any chance of getting "light" headgear, like boonies or woollen hats, or bold... like TQP's SF or the Mercs pack (they're still one of my fav. units btw, too bad I can't edit them to have Llauma's head to fit me in). Wilco 944 Posted August 10, 2006 Does it happen to be the one I gave out awhile ago? Â That's the one I'm using for this. Edit: Â Oh, and an update. New unit model for sniper:
sickboy 13 Posted August 10, 2006 I so hope you get permission to use the gear etc.. The whole addon looks really really great, can't wait for release!!
Wilco 944 Posted August 10, 2006 He's away for basic for nine weeks, but Pappy (Helped him) said we can use the gear with proper credits, so I should be good to go.
BlackScorpion 0 Posted August 10, 2006 Heh... those look sweet, really neat. Can't wait to get them, maybe I'll actually come up with some sort of mission.
sickboy 13 Posted August 10, 2006 He's away for basic for nine weeks, but Pappy (Helped him) said we can use the gear with proper credits, so I should be good to go. Sounds awesome... (Not that im gonna ask this each day or week, just interested....) do you have any (possible) ETA? If you like... me and my community can be Beta testers for them, we play day in day out (after work ), and we don't mind reporting bugs, testing things out... Wilco 944 Posted August 10, 2006 As of right now no, I've still got to switch some things, add some things, and swap texture paths. We'll see.
DBR_ONIX 0 Posted August 10, 2006 Not to repeat myself, bu- Ah screw it :: Hmm.. An idea/soloution..Since OFP's general cammo system sucks, why? Seeing a 1204^2 res texture on a ~1.7m unit, on a 512^2 terrain texture streched out over 64m square just doesn't give enough texture to hide in.. The soloution? Well, an idea.. Start to make the unit transparent in the more distant lods, so the lower lod (only really seen when the unit is very far away) is, say, 75% transparent (So should be very hard to see they move, which is accurate), and at a few hundered meters, around %50, and <20m should be %0.. Not totaly sure how well it'd work, but if it looks crap, erm.. Blame Codardl for the idea! Theoretically it should work.. The semi-transparent-ness shouldn't (it won't) mess up seeing units when they move, as in reality. Seeing units at mid-distances should still be hard (see http://www.multicampattern.com/img/splash_graphic_4.jpg for example).. Since there isn't desnse enough patternt to allow that, using the terriain behind the unit to add a more "accurate" cammoflauge scheme will compensate.. ..okay, so I've no idea if this will acctualy work, but it could.. ..so, Wilco, would you care to try an experimental version of one of your units? (or get a friendly modder to try it) - Ben
Wilco 944 Posted August 10, 2006 I was actually thinking about that today I just have no idea on how I should do it.
DBR_ONIX 0 Posted August 10, 2006 Just make various versions of a texture, then edit the lods, changing the texture paths It'd be slightly tedious, but should only take 30mins.. I might consider doing it, bu I've not done any OFP-y stuff for ages, and I never liked doing unit configs - Ben
Wilco 944 Posted August 10, 2006 I need to get the LOD's first
dkell3 0 Posted August 10, 2006 Looks great Wilco! Is that the same color that was used on the first Multicam units that were made?
