ProfTournesol 956 Posted October 29, 2006 @ Dynamite_cow and Stonewall Jackson : Thank you guys. @SPQR : yes, nice ideas. You're welcome to add any ideas you want, this mod belongs to all its supporters. Maybe should i release this addon pack (civilians + vehicles + objects + napoleonic nogova + houses + scripts) without campaign and gain some help for it from someone... Â The first campaign i tried to make is actually unfinished (1814 campaign on 19century island) because it's quite hard with Ofp engine to stick to historical things (particularly quite realistic battles), but it gave me a lot of ideas (and scripts...) for another one on this new island. SPQR 0 Posted October 29, 2006 The first campaign i tried to make is actually unfinished (1814 campaign on 19century island) because it's quite hard with Ofp engine to stick to historical things (particularly quite realistic battles), but it gave me a lot of ideas (and scripts...) for another one on this new island. This is why I wonder if it wouldn't be better to stay close to skirmishes, before army battles era (like your current idea), or for action before and after battle, leaving the battle to history itself. This would give more freedom for players and lighten your burden of scripted armies battle (however the mission you made earlier as a commanding officer worked well, even if I should recommand a lighter level of fight, platoon level [3 squad + 0-1 cav unit] instead of half-company level). Spain could have been a good place for skirmishes too (just to say "skirmishes are good" ).
Sixy 0 Posted November 11, 2006 Great work ProfTournesol. I'm very glad that you're still carrying on with this unique mod. I second Tankieboy's suggestion of expanding the British Army's 95th Rifles, maybe adding an officer class to them. Also, I agree that the baker rifles should have the bayonet swords removed, they look better without them fitted anyway Keep up the excellent work mate
Connors 0 Posted November 11, 2006 Although if the 95th wer expanded the officer would need a baker rifle (apparently captains and below generally used a rifle and a sword).
Snuffy 0 Posted November 15, 2006 Hey ProfT, whats the campaign status? I also was wondering about those facetextures ya using .. they are BIS default textures aigh? Would it be even possible to replace the current face textures with Facestex2 ?
lukemax 0 Posted November 15, 2006 Seeing the boat makes me think if there is going to be a expanded Naval aspect?
Santosa 0 Posted November 15, 2006 some textures don't align on that stone bridge still looks good though
ProfTournesol 956 Posted November 15, 2006 Thanks for your support, guys @ Sixy, Connors, Snuffy : I won't make any modification to the current units, but i will go on working on this mod for Arma, using new Arma models for soldiers. I'll add then new units and grow British army (as there are some British supporters here ! ), make Spanish and Portuguese soldiers, Spanish guerrileros etc. @ Lukemax : i've adapted PC sailingships to this mod (changed crews, added canons, created destroy scripts and falling masts, made sailors and marines etc...) in the addon pack already released. Just look in this thread. @ Snuffy again : i'm working slowly on it (5 missions already done on the Napoleonic nogova map) because i've got RL and because i want them to be interesting and realistic. @ Santosa : textures are aligned, the upper part of the bridge is "made" of smaller stones. By the way, i've replaced my first awfull dead animations by DMA UNIGEN ones (dying and dead ones), it works very well. And i've done an unbelievable extraordinary fabulous addon that will change players' life..........................a little candle

ProfTournesol 956 Posted January 16, 2007 Any chance you could remove the sword bayonet from the baker rifle as I have it from a good resource that it was rarely fitted? Done : a baker without bayonet has been added, with some 95th riffles equiped with it (and corresponding group). 26 missions done for the campaign, which should include 30 of them... By the way, happy new year
gunterlund 0 Posted January 16, 2007 Hi Prof Was wondering if there is a way to have the troops close rank from the standard BIS line formation. Thanks for the info.

ProfTournesol 956 Posted January 19, 2007 @ tankieboy : thanks a lot for your support  @ gunterlund : i've worked a lot on formations script (for Cwmod or Napoleonic mod), but nothing was very satisfying...it's quite impossible to get Napoleonic style formations and keeping Ofp's gameplay at the same time. "Switchmove " scripts help us to get good formations but it's CPU demanding, and units aren't reacting well to enemies. I will release some scripts with the campaign to obtain square and walking in line with weapon on shoulder scripts (without any "switchmove" commands, modifying GenB formation scripts), but they are far from being perfect...At least groups will stay and fight together, which isn't that bad...
