hellfish6 7 Posted March 23, 2006 Isn't the RAF known as the "RAF" and not "the Air Force"? Likewise for other airforces - RAAF, SAAF, Armee de L'Air, etc. AFAIK the USAF is the only one in the English speaking world routinely and officially called the "Air Force". Nobody calls the Air Force "USAF" like they do with the Brits, Aussies or anyone else. Then again, there are the Canadians, but last I checked they don't count for much. Pathy 0 Posted March 23, 2006 What do you think "RAF" stands for like wise for most of those names you posted, the letters letters stand for something, Wonder what? Or isn't the "USAF" called the "USAF" as opposed to "the airforce"? See my point?
Connors 0 Posted March 23, 2006 I would like to see the RAFR (Royal Air Force Regiment, if you didnt know) in the game.

Every time I hear Brits refer to their Air Force it's "The RAF does this" or "The RAF has that", never "The Air Force does this" or "The Air Force has that". It's always the "RAF". Likewise for all commonwealth nations I hear spoken of. Anyway, it's irrelevant. The USAF is the biggest kid on the block so it wins the name envy contest. No one in the states ever calls it USAF, it sounds too funny. We allways refer to it as the "Air Force", though I guess other countries do the same, just in different languages... Army, The Marines can do the same job. Air Force, again the Marines could do this as could the Navy. Apart from the Marines the Navy is the only other force the US Needs, so truly the Rines are the daddy of the big four?
Marco.A.Aguilar1 0 Posted March 24, 2006 The Army National Guard are protected by the Constitution. They are also the oldest out of all military branches including Regular Army itself. Heck, they are older then the U.S. her self. What is funny is that the Air National Guard is the youngest...even younger then the Regular Air Force. But I do agree. The Marines have expeditionary forces which are basically a small army and air force. The Navy just has a good air force, not including their great fleet. If you move their bases inland (Marine/Navy bases are only located on coasts) then you can truely say they could replace all.
Big Dawg KS 6 Posted March 24, 2006 Army, The Marines can do the same job. Â Bull, the Army operates far more troops and vehicles than the Marines, and includes a variety of very useful SF. On that note, the Marines are usually deployed as an expeditionary force, having far better amphibious capabilities than the Army and are quicker to deploy, but in the event of a real, full-scale war, our extremely large Army's more technologically advanced war machine will be there to guarantee that the anyone who opposing us will quite literally suffer the consequiences. The USMC is, afterall, the second smallest branch of the U.S. military, larger only than the Coast Guard, which really isn't anything to brag about... However, the vast size of our Army makes it hard to mobilize, that's where the Marine Corps comes in; fast, sufficient response to a crisis. The Marines might be able to do the job, to some degree, of two of our military branches, but really don't compare to the Army and Air Force. The US Army is an extremely powerful conventional force, practically nothing else on this planet can maintain a status equivalent to that of the US Army - so the Marines can't do the same job, they're just currently handling all of the ugly situations while the Army hibernates. OT, the Air Force combat uniform, that's damn cool, the great tiger stripe pattern but in less ugly looking colors... I'm sure it works great for the Air Force, even they have a better sense of camouflage than the Army... (ACU - yuck!
