mrn 0 Posted December 26, 2005 A Seal team is going deep into the Meekong Delta to blow up ammo stashes, kill an enemy officer and blow a bridge. General Barrons' Multiple Onsingleclick handler Strango's MoveCar, edited to my own needs. Babalon's Enhanced destroyed vehicle effect Keycats Grouplink Igor Drukov's blood script Pilots' Firefly script, slightly modified Hawkins' Gooktalk script A couple of the Orcs' effects scripts (plane, tank, boat) I am a bit of a script magpie, so if I've used something and not credited my apologies. Includes sounds from Aeons' Nature Pack addon: ftp://www.gamepark.cz:8021/ofpd/unofaddons2/AEONnature.zip http://korps.online.fr/nature/nature.zip http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=48710 and the insects from Mapfacts sound pack1: http://www.mapfact.net/include....ntid=33 and miscellaneous Royalty free (hopefully :-D) sounds obtained from the internet. ------------------------------------------------------ The Officer is unlikely to be in the same location 2 games running. Sometimes you'll lose communications with the pilot, sometimes you won't. Best enjoyed with DXDLL (http://koti.mbnet.fi/kegetys/flashpoint/dxdll10.zip) but watch your object count, if it's too high it will cause lag. If in doubt have a look at the thread here: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=40962 To use the Airstrike use the radio call and click on the map within 5 seconds where you want the napalm to hit. A target will appear to indicate where the plane will drop the bombs. The same instructions apply for Artillery. There will be a savegame added with every objective completed. Feedback welcome. lendrom 0 Posted January 9, 2006 Since the moment General Barron released his wonderful Hand Signales engine compatible with fwatch i can't understand how can anyone make a nam mission without it But anyway im inpatient to try this one (some really nice features you listed - Keycat's Grouplink is also one of my favorites, i dont know how did i overlooked this topic). Downloading now.
mrn 0 Posted January 10, 2006 @Placebo Thanks. @lendrom Quote[/b] ]i can't understand how can anyone make a nam mission without it Agreed, but I had originally made the basis of this mission pre-Handsignals. Also, there's a lot of getting in and out vehicles and re-arming in this so it kind of rules it out. Hopefully you'll enjoy it and won't find any bugs. lendrom 0 Posted January 10, 2006 I've got some troubles running this mission. Intro goes smooth but when it ends i get a message about missing addon VTE_sebobj. I've got patched version of VTE beta and there's no vte_sebobj.pbo in it (i checked original file x_vte_open_beta_11-03-05.rar and it's not there (i know it's unpatched but there in no this pbo in patch either)). Any ideas what can be wrong? Is it my VTE installation or what? Quote[/b] ]Agreed, but I had originally made the basis of this mission pre-Handsignals. Also, there's a lot of getting in and out vehicles and re-arming in this so it kind of rules it out. And what's more HS system is not good to use with Group Link because IIRC GroupLink can support only one group that is being 'hunted' and HS uses many groups under player's command. mrn 0 Posted January 10, 2006 Quote[/b] ]Any ideas what can be wrong? Is it my VTE installation or what? Maybe, but I'm not sure. I've checked my x_vte folder and I don't have a vte_sebobj.pbo either, but what I do have is a sebnam_obj.pbo. Looks like this file has been VTE'd and is different to the one supplied with the SEB pack. Mine is dated 03/11/05 and is 7.54mb, instead of the SEB one which is 24/11/02 and is 4.18mb. Hope that helps. Quote[/b] ] because IIRC GroupLink can support only one group that is being 'hunted' Indeed.
mrn 0 Posted February 10, 2006 *cough* Sorry, felt like a bump. I know 'Nam isn't fashionable at the moment and VTE is a huge download but I would hope this mission offers something different.
quiet_man 8 Posted February 13, 2006 *cough*Sorry, felt like a bump. I know 'Nam isn't fashionable at the moment and VTE is a huge download but I would hope this mission offers something different. Nam is a fascinating nightmare, nothing to do with fashion but nearly 500 Mbyte download is a lot and most of your download links are no more working (mission and addons) I think I managed it to get everything, hope I also get time at the weekend to play will come back to report quiet_man
Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted February 13, 2006 Ill try it this weekend, simply having too much on my hands until then :/ It sounds like great frun
mrn 0 Posted February 13, 2006 Quote[/b] ]but nearly 500 Mbyte download is a lot and most of your download links are no more working (mission and addons) Ack. Hopefully [HC]Para will update Mekong Delta so it can be used independantly, for the moment I'm stuck using VTE. All the other units could be easily be SEB instead. That would probably cut the download list by about 400mb... Links updated/changed. Hopefully they all work now... Good luck!
quiet_man 8 Posted February 22, 2006 a good mission, intro and outro are very good sneaking is not my favorite, so I had some issue at the beginning as many enemies rushed to the firefight, it might also have spoiled to some degree the later part but the straining patrols keept me bussy maybe you should think on the story? were does the Artillery come from? All targets are in the open, why no major airstrike? What about exchanging roles? (I haven't seen many vietnames missions around) Have a vietnames team sneak in to sabotage american installations. Supported by some hidden mortarts. Or remove artillery, make airstrikes unlimited and more planes, but long time until attack and unreliable were they hit. So once you identified the target, you need to get far away, call the strike, then get back and finish what they missed or maybe it is simply me who does not understand quiet_man
mrn 0 Posted April 10, 2006 Ups, missed this reply, sorry quiet man. Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. Quite often with missions I end up getting caught up with the technicalities and not the storyline so your comments are probably right. I spent hours and hours setting up the patrols and unit placement which now could be done in 5 minutes using DAC. I might consider converting this to VC one day when I'm back in a 'Nam frame of mind.
