A couple days ago I convinced Offtime to change his BRDM2M96 (Polish) a bit and create soviet BRDM-2. It is strange for me, that so common vehicle (used in at least 35 countries) hasn't been created for OFP so far (BIS gave us only unarmed OT-65). I know that Spetsnaz Mod is making one (looking exeptionaly well), but I'm not sure when they are going to release it.

So ladies and gents, hereby I present u BRDM-2 addon for OFP. It's manned by standard BIS East crewmen (gunner & driver) and can hold additional three passangers. The vehicle contains standard BIS ammo loadout (AK74, PK, SVD, RPGLauncher magazines). Numbers on vehicle's sides are given randomly. I hope you find it very useful for creating missions.

Jack - interior model and textures.

Agent Smith - LOD models, config.

FAB - random numbering script.

Alderous - compilation of Soviet version.

Special feature: Random numbers on vehicle sides - hidden selections names are "L0", "L1", "L2" for the left side and "P0", "P1", "P2" for the right side. Paths to the numbers textures are "\OFF_BRDM2\n0.paa", "\OFF_BRDM2\n1.paa", "\OFF_BRDM2\n2.paa" and so on....

I don't think that's possible within the current OFP engine.

This is a very nice BRDM. Is there any chance you could make a version without any gun turret on the top so we could use it for replacing the BIS BRDM?

This picture explains purpose - it simply improves vehicle cross-country ability. They are quite useless in OFP because there are no such ditches or craters

These are completely different vehicles. Simply, removing only the turret won't make it a good replacement.

It was about f****** time somebody build a worthy replacement for that useless BIS model. I'm still looking forward to SFMs BRDM2 pack because it contains at lot of variants like the AT3 model but this one will absolutly do - that's for sure...

well they look almost identical to the BIS BRDM.

I dont care if its accurate or not, because if the turret was removed it would make a great replacement.

BIS OT is not BRDM-2

so no matter what, it wont be real replacement, couse those are two completly different vehicles.

nah, we will wait for RHS brdm, RHS creates so grete addons that we shouldnt be making them at all, so we wont profane art of addonsmaking by adding idiotic stars or something.

I say theres a inacurracy cause only air vehicles get red stars ( wich i mean when i used the metapher of the flying BRDM ) and he replies stuff like oh we should all stop making russain/soviet addosn now and wait for the oh so great RHS stuff... im the only one seeing this as a bit odd answer to my suggestion?
