Uziyahu--IDF 0 Posted October 6, 2005 Looking at Nephilim's mercenaries, soon to be released, I was wondering if anyone has made a comic book that uses textured 3-D models that are merely positioned and posed for each frame? Seems like it would be a good way to save yourself a lot of work. The engine would take care of the lighting and special effects. If no one has done this, someone should. I would definitely read a graphic novel that used models of the quality of Nephilim's and had top-notch special effects, as long as it had a good story. Gun nuts would love something like that. (Remember the old Mac Bolan novels?) Does a character need a different weapon? Just slap a pre-made weapon in the same character model's hands.
jakerod 254 Posted October 6, 2005 I was going to do that but then I realized that I: A. Suck at modeling B. Suck at textures & C. Should probably stick to Visitor
The Frenchman 0 Posted October 9, 2005 Not for OFP, so I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but for Half Life2 there is this popular mod called Garry's Mod, where you can pose ragdolls(from HL2, CSS,DOD:S and many custom models) to create comics. It's really hard at first to make a decent one but with some practice and PS editing skills, you can make some really impressive stuff. Here are some examples from other comics done in G Mod: Example 1 Example
