Damage Inc 0 Posted January 18, 2002 Well it could be changed. But I'm not telling how because I don't know if you speak the truth.
Sith 0 Posted January 18, 2002 Just reinstall the game and use the new code
Wobble 1 Posted January 18, 2002 do a regedit and search for "OFP" "codemasters" and "Flashpoint" under one of them you will find a value that matches your CD-key, just change it to the new cd-key
Damage Inc 0 Posted January 18, 2002 Nooo DON'T TELL THAT! Now all the w@rez d00ds will use it!
Wobble 1 Posted January 18, 2002 Nooo DON'T TELL THAT! Now all the w@rez d00ds will use it! so? you still need the cd in the drive for the game to work... its not like its some kind of crack or anything.
reaper 0 Posted January 18, 2002 You won't find it in the registry. The last lan party we had, one guy hadn't installed v1.4. When he tried it, it told him to re-install the game. He brought his CD, but not the manual, so we looked in his registry to try and find the key, but its not there. He ended up having to call and have someone read it over the phone to him. Mister Frag 0 Posted January 18, 2002 </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">do a regedit and search for "OFP" "codemasters" and "Flashpoint" under one of them you will find a value that matches your CD-key, just change it to the new cd-key<span id='postcolor'> The problem is that the value in the registry is a binary representation of the CD Key -- it's not in plain text. It's also not just the hex codes of the characters in the key. Since there is some algorithm to validate the CD Key that is being entered during installation, something similar is sure to exist for the registry entry. If you think that you can just change one of the bytes of the registry value to switch to a different CD Key, you'll likely find yourself unable to start OFP. I don't care how many Warez D00ds find out about this registry entry, knowing about it doesn't do them any good.
dontknow 0 Posted January 19, 2002 i knew that i can reinstall it with the new cd key but my friend has got a slow pc so he doesn't want to do that........... he even freezed during patching

amos m 0 Posted January 19, 2002 Like the warez D00ds don't know about the system registry. Dolts! And I don't think this works. Me and a mate tried this once, changing his existing one to the same as mine. I don't remember that it worked. The cd key is stored somewher else. And flashpoint has more than one registry entry.
