The-Architect 0 Posted September 28, 2005 I'm proud to release my reskinned version of the BIS CH47. I have to first thank Rock and NZXSHADOWS for their help, support and hard work. Without them there would be no addon. It's not of superb quality because I;m a mission maker not an addon maker. The only reason I made it is because I needed an RAF Chinook with modern camo and there wasn't one around. Here are some screens. Anyway. The Chinook is done in the colours of Number 7 squadron of the Royal Air Force. It's the squadron which deals with special forces operations. Based at RAF Odiham the squadron has operated Chinooks since 1982. The badge on the tail is part of their squadron badge. Seven mullets of six points forming a representation of the constellation Ursa Major - approved by King George VI in June 1939. Here is the file. http://rapidshare.de/files/5639470/CH47HC2.zip.html

So that we left Bis´85 times ,i first expected some features. It is a nice looking Addon ,but why to use a foreign addon in mission (this is the sense of making addons .... sometimes forgotten) ,so to dl more stuff, instead using the old bis on,if there are no more features than in the bis´one.Add cargo scripts as known etc. and your addon will be accepted more for sure. I first could not believe someone retextures the bis one ,...spends his time for an addon which is offered more than twice at ofp.info in that kind. I respect your work, don´t understand me wrong,...but i am not of those who just cry "fantastic","good work" etc, without using concrete critics Nevertheless it is a quiet good basic to work on.... Guest RKSL-Rock Posted September 28, 2005 I think some perspective might need to be added here. The-Architect wanted a 'modern' British Chinook for a mission hes making. It was never about adding new features, bell and whistles only about adding a British skin to an old model. Since he got help from the community to do it hes sharing it with us so that others can make use of it. Its really that simple.
xnodunitx 0 Posted September 28, 2005 And he also stated he was a mission maker, not an addon maker.
The-Architect 0 Posted September 29, 2005 Thank you guys. I appreciate the back up. First off, why use a foreign addon in a mission? You don't know what the mission is. It's a british forces mission so obviously the BIS Chinook wouldn't be right. Like RKSL said, it was really only made for myself. I only released it because maybe somebody else could use it. As for the scripts. Agian like xnodunitx said, I'm a mission maker not an addon maker. Perhaps if I knew a bit more about configs I would have attempted something. RKSL and NZXSHADOWS will tell you, the config was where I fell down. Finally, if you want an RAF Chinook with scripts and animated cargo doors etc, then do one. I simply don't have the time. I shouldn't really have to say any of this and am a bit embarrased that I've had to.

Eh its just people, they want and want but some just won't do for themselves, they'd rather bicker about things then read em,as for config's woo I know what ya mean,I prefer to stay away from those,I always break something on a model and I'd hate to see what I'd break in terms of the config lol "Huh...why is the helicopter flying upside down...*boom*....I'm not dead but I can't move?! AARGH!"
PSYCHOSIM 0 Posted September 29, 2005 Fair enough, and nuff said! Its a well done bit of retexturing anyway! Good work fella.
"Jack" 0 Posted September 29, 2005 Nice work, be good addition to the ever growing brit' forces on OFP ... any chance of changing the M2 to a GPMG or Minigun? Not sure how much work that would entail but it would really be the cherry on the cake Thanks again, will be used in the campaign i'm makin' atm.
