hotrats 0 Posted January 16, 2002 In OFP when u chuck hand grenade it explodes on imapact. Is that right? dont hand grenades have timed fuse? or am I a few years behind the times?
Guest Scooby Posted January 16, 2002 In Finland we've got 3 second fuses. Never heard of grenade that would detonate by impact being used in our army.

Benze 0 Posted January 17, 2002 I noticed this too. I don't think the OFP engine really supports stuff like grenades on the island, so it would bounce around and make a noise before it exploded. Also, notice how the guys breathing gets heavy when he throws it?
DanAK47 1 Posted January 17, 2002 The M26A2 is a US made impact-detonated frag grenade

I wouldn't want to drop one though... Safety or no... would you really want to risk it, remembering that it was made by the lowest bidder...
Wobble 1 Posted January 22, 2002 I noticed this too. I don't think the OFP engine really supports stuff like grenades on the island, so it would bounce around and make a noise before it exploded. If a vehicle, chair, barrel etc can bounce.. why not a grenade? The M26A2 is a US made impact-detonated frag grenade is it the standard issue frag for field infantry? no. just because somebody makes an explode on impact frag doesent mean that ever soldier of EVERY kind.. sniper, grenader, morter man...etc should be FORCED to use it.. I find the OFP grenades unrelaistic and ANNOYING! there also needs to be a improved way of throwing them.
Diablo_NL 1 Posted January 22, 2002 I tottaly agree with all of you. Also would like some flashbangs unless they dont use them in the army. (they use them for crowd controll thats all i know)
Satchel 0 Posted January 22, 2002 Yupp, i agree on hand grenades in OFP being pathetic and annoying. I can´t count how often i got killed while trying to throw a grenade while standing close to an object like a wall, with the grenade exploding against it right in my face. In MOUT being able to throw grenades at short distance is essential, like into a doorway, window, etc. In OFP however this is hardly possible, because if you do you will die too of the blast caused by immediate detonation. Hand grenades don´t necessarily have to bounce (this will for sure get messy- having the OFP objects in mind that jump like 10m high even when tipped slightly), a simple delay would be already sufficent for me. WKK Gimbal 0 Posted January 22, 2002 Heheh ... I remember when I first played the OFP demo. I found the physics absolutely awful. But hey, they said the game was only 80 percent done, so I hoped the last 20 percent was in the physics department I hope OFP2 will have physics that can match the FPS standard. Ability to FALL down a steep slope and die. Objects that can be pushed, rolled or tipped over. Proper pathfinding and movement in houses. As I said, like in any other FPS game
