how many polys are the maximum??

does it really matter? ... millions ? .... if it have qualite lod system and way how adapt by hardware used ...

This knoweledge would greatly help addon makers who want to start making models/textures for ArmA, but dont know how many polys is "normal".

For example. Mr Addonmaker makes a weapon model for ArmA tomorrow, should he make it 2000 polys, or 1000? Or 500?

You'll be sverely hampered when making it by bulldozer, it doesnt like high poly models at all.

Best to wait until the new tools (that's a hint BIS) are made available.

But still it's good to know roughlty what poly-count to make them. You could model stuff in 3DSM/Maya, then when the ArmA tools are out convert them wink_o.gif

But anyway, not really important, but would be usefull to know

Yep its that, i can model in 3Ds Studio Max, i got the version 6, there you can model better than in o2 because in o2 when you do a model with more than 10`000 polys then o2 is lagging, 3ds max not.

I think it isnt a "stupid question"

Yep its that, i can model in 3Ds Studio Max, i got the version 6, there you can model better than in o2 because in o2 when you do a model with more than 10`000 polys then o2 is lagging, 3ds max not.

=) I would rather have more units on the maps with detail as the HYK units. smile_o.gif
