SCFI features for OFP2

Hi BIS Team again and sry for my blindness tounge2.gif

Im a member of the CNC mod http://cnc.mdk-clan.de

we are working on an OFP to C&C Tiberian Sun modification

and we want to release our stuff together with the fantastic new OFP2 engine.

In this moment weve got some problems with the old OFP engine.

And we are asking you now to help us a little bit.

In the next posts our CNC members will post you some ideas for small features.

We are hoping that you are able to add them to the new engine.

wild guess: animations for vehicles? wink_o.gif

I am almost certain it'l be possibole for OFP2, but maybe some stuff will be done in Aras too... wink_o.gif

Wow, now that shows your level of organisation smile_o.gif .

Just say the obvious: multiple gun positions, etc etc.

A way of having "flying" enemies would be nice, just to have attacking birds, or flying aliens (Tiberium floater?)

Also, a way of keeping particles out of buildings (imagine garrisonning one of those Tiberian Sun houses and have a ion storm surrounding you crazy_o.gif ) would be nice, make the particles a different kind of texture, wich turns invisible within a certain covered by a sort of box lod... or something... like fire geometry, just for particles(wich only turns them invisible, nothing else), but i'm not the coding expert though whistle.gif .

But i'm not in the C&C mod, so i'm not in the position to suggest this smile_o.gif .

Yes, the tiberium floater. its be able to do it, just doing it how a man, and make for it some animations.... how that bat from mig biggrin_o.gif

Yes, we got animations for our GDI Mechs, but its not easy to do it, because normaly you cant do animations for vehicles (.rtm files) it willbe better in OFP2 when you can do animations for Vehicles too and Buildings and Aircrafts, because in OFP1 you can only do it for Soldiers sad_o.gif

now in OFP1 we got many mods, i hope in OFP2 you can use .pbo and .p3d files too, in the mods were so many work , it would be nice you can use the mods in OFP2 too, maybe you must change a bit the model, more details or dunno. but would be nice you can use the addons in OFP2 too smile_o.gif

Then we would do a mod for OFP2 with C&C Tiberian Sun biggrin_o.gif

but for ArmA we do it and there we release our mod. confused_o.gif

hmmm... that particle thing i think would take too much memory and is too small a detail, at least it is for the amount of code you'd need to do it.

it would only calculate when to render them (or just the textures) , nothing else, right? huh.gif

Has to work out what way their moving, how they colide with other particals, when to "die" (like if it hits something). But pixel shaders take away most of that, which I'm certain game2 will have.

A better animation system would be great in OFP2.

Maybe something like being able to say that an animation only affects this part, this part and this. So you could animate the fingers in an animation, and animate the arm in another, and animate the legs in another. So you could make custom holding gun holding things without redoing every walking animation again smile_o.gif

I would love to see a BattleTech mod. All BattleTech games are a little too dumbed down and arcadish.

But I doubt any moders would have the skill (and if they did have the skill the TIME) to get a walking mech thing to work in the OFP or OFP2 engine.

But then again I dont know anything about modding....you can dream though eh?
