pandalefou 0 Posted July 2, 2005 Mmh... i'm really really tired to have a slow frame rate on that game ! i love it but... i'm tired to fight against the low fps... If i want to play a nice game (ofp with FFUR or CSLA ect...) the game really slow down... i'm running on an A64 3200+, R9800pro (oc at 418/366), 1024DDR I want to say to Bis please make ofp2 more optimized because ofp eat the cpu and it's incredible that farcry run really smooth all in very high... Now i can't play OFP, i stop until OFP2...
berghoff 11 Posted July 2, 2005 Well what can I say, Armed Assault should solve problems on newer hardware. gandalf the white 0 Posted July 2, 2005 Yep. also, Farcry has diffrent priorities (good graphics) , but that's another issue. I think Amra will be pretty optimised, don't worry.
somebloke 0 Posted July 2, 2005 i'm running on an A64 3200+, R9800pro (oc at 418/366), 1024DDR Christ man. I'm on an AMD Sempron 3000+, 256mb Ram, GeforceMX 5700 256mb Card. Runs fine for me, and your spec is nearly twice mine.
Messiah 2 Posted July 2, 2005 same here... i have AA and AT up on full, visual on full, details/textures on full and viewdistance at 1500... runs like a dream how your system cant handle ofp i don't know... ever thought of checking for spyware etc?
Reven 0 Posted July 2, 2005 OFP was designed for Windows 98 where Farcry was designed for XP. They each work better on the machines they were designed for.
somebloke 0 Posted July 2, 2005 Tell that to us lot running it on xp, mate.
pandalefou 0 Posted July 2, 2005 I just formated 1 week ago ! because i installed xp for my a64... i can't understand why a very beautifull game run more smooth than an old ugly game like ofp > cpu usage is intensive ? It slow down in each campaign but not in mission editor ( don't use the triggers...) yes i hope OFP2 and AA will be more optimised but... i have a bad smell in mouth about that game
DBR_ONIX 0 Posted July 2, 2005 Like has been said, it was designed on/for old processors, which had no idea whatsoever how to work on a 64-ish bit CPU I get, hm, 20FPS normaly, and the same performace (by the sound of it, mission editor fine most fo the time, campigns laggy), on a 2.8GHz P4, 1GB ram and 128MB card. OFP was designed to use 64MB ram, and 500mhz CPU, so the rest isn't really used. VBS1 runs faar more smoothly that OFP (Driving though particles in OFP slows down, VBS1 has almost no slowdown driving though explosion smoke). And ArmA is more polished than ArmA, so will run better, but still not make use of your full power. "Game 2" will be more like Far Cry in "I will use all your PC resources"-terms - Ben

Placebo 29 Posted July 2, 2005 There are enough threads about getting Opf running well if you look in troubleshooting, another one is not needed.
