We also used to go to the Turkish side of Nicosia to get cheap goods at the markets. I got a great ring made at one of the goldsmiths. This the hillside flag you refer to? I also agree that there should be a mod that takes place on Cyprus like during the Turkish invasion,peacekeeping mission there,or even something fictional. But in fact in Cyprus before the invasion in 1974, was both Turkish and Greek people. I don't know what happened or if EOKA did things against turkish people in Cyprus, that info i don't know, and to tell you the truth i'm not sure if they hit turkish people. BUT don't forget that here in Greece befor the Cyprus invasion, we had dication! a dication that was a friend_american dectation, so see things more spherically, to me all that was a big mysterius plan involved Turkish-Greek-American sides more than british, by the time the invasion was made, most of the British troops have sent back. Anyway that was history, and as i said people are people, we just want to be good together. so please don't scratch wounds, cause the cyprus conflict can dig up, big arguments, and i don't want that to happen. So as far as the HATE isue, why do most of people thing that we hate each other??? of course we have a big history of conflicts and arguments with turkish side, but see things again more sperically. we have war with Germans at WWII too? with Bulgarians in Balkan wars too? does anyone of you think that we hate them??? no i don't think so. So why do i have to hate Turkish people. we are all people, and PEOPLE need to be good. Each one of us want to have his family, his house, his work, etc. why do i have to hate them, i just can't understand. In fact i'm very happy, because that game, bring me more close to the turkish side, by knowing and making 2 good Turkish friends. And i relise that they are just like me, so why do i have to hate them. all that is crap. i know that today both in Greece and Turkey, no one sensible wants a war, or a conflict. But unforunatel in both countries we have the JACKASS HEADS that want to think about the past, and all the time remind as that we have to be afraid each other, instead of being friends with each other! Now everyone must have seen that both turkish people and both greek people do not hate each other, indeed they want to remain friends and good neighbors. However I want to write one thing I dont believe or know the same way as he does (I respect his belief in the matter of course, this I am writing is just to stress out our point of view in the matter, everyone is free to believe or not believe anything); EOKA did kill turkish citizens of the island, to a degree as to kill turkish officers' families. They also killed greeks who didnt back up their murderous ways. You would think a serious event must have happened for us to undergo all the trouble in 1974. No other secret plan is involved here. EOKA and its unofficial master, the dictation government (Makarios' governement) which through a coup came to power in 1963, dismembering the unity of greek-turkish Cyprus state, which was signed in 1960 in I think London Conference and according to which, turks and greeks shared a same government with equal representation of both sides. From then until 1974, it was 11 years of pain for both turks and greeks on the island. If a campaign is to be developed for Cyprus during or before 1974, forget about Turks vs. Greeks, the answer is UN vs. Makarios' dictation and its armed forces. It could very well be implemented and would really hit the spot. If such an act was made just after 1963, there would not have been any need for 1974. klavan 0 Posted May 18, 2006 Such MOD would be surely lead to some great scenarios for mission and campaigns, not only strictly related to an eventual Greek vs Turkish confrontation. The british presence on the island would open some interesting possibilities, think about some arab terrorism involvement for example. I took in consideration the possibility to make a scaled down island some time ago......
