Whit the today's release of the new PedagneMOD ChopperPack by Arremba_San-Zorzo, comes the beta release of my mission that uses the PedagneMOD units.

WHO ARE YOU:

Captain Davide Staffelli, leader of a well-trained marines squad of the Italian Navy's "San Marco" Amphibious Regiment.

MISSION:

To rescue and evacuate some civilians in Tonal, which is inflamed by civil war, after seizing an airport and a bridge in order to set up a safe evacuation point and to organize a motorized convoy to reach the destination by.

FEATURES:

- Artillery support (smoke and HE)

- Rotary-winged air support (CAS and area strike)

- Command Engine (you will command other teams and vehicles)

- Custom music, voices, sounds and radio messages (in Italian)

- Bilingual support (English and Italian)

- End results depending on how well you operate

In order to avoid to mess up you addons folders I suggest you to create a mod-folder in your main OFP directory.

Instructions about how to create such mod-folder are included in the readme.

KNOW BUGS/ISSUES:

English texts need to be corrected

Sounds quality during cutscenes may be improved

Look at the "Various" notes section in the mission briefing to know more about bugs/problems.

WARNING!

This mission take place in a huge island and there are a lots of units and vehicles involved. So, if try to run it on a low specs PC you may have a lot of lag.

I just started playing it and I really like your mission, the intro is awesome, the command egnine works well. Although I think Coc's Command Engine would serve this mission's prupose better, the functions you included in your engine are enough, but at certain points during the mission some more functions wouldn't hurt. Like for instance a Slowdown-Function or ability to set multiple waypoints.

So I secured the civilians and got them into the trucks, than I planned to cross the bridge near by (the only bridge one can use to get back to the airport) but on the bridge stood a tank and the tank did not plan to move away. O_o so I couldn't use that bridge, that's way I drove through the whole tonal island and tried the long bridge in the east, unfortunately that collapsed. So I have no open way to the airport. Any ideas?

There are only two things that should be able to cause problems in this version of the mission:

1 A damned tank that refuses to cross the bridge completely (not wanted by me, as the tank should end it's run beyond the bridge itself)

2 The same bridge collabsed by an unlucky artillery shot or by the fire of the choppers.

Unluckly you get one of these.

For the moment you've only to restart the mission from the last usefull savepoint..... sad_o.gif

I'm working to fix this problem and maybe the next version will features an "emergency extraction option".

warn people that this is a cpu-heavy mission! i have a 1ghz and was getting 1-3 fps in the heli at the beginning (i didn't go any further for obvious reasons).

the intro and briefing were nice, although there were some grammar issues you could fix if you cared to.

I get this error message when setting a target for the CAS (yes I installed the inv_target addon)

the artillery isn't working at all

and when I spot an enemy or one of my teammates is wounded or killed I get this error message:

and I restarted the mission hoping to get over the bridge this time, but again the tank stands at the mid of the bridge, waiting for me to loose my nerves and blow me away. So that really needs to get fixed.

Besides that you made a really nice mission, (alone the voices add so much atmosphere), fix those little bugs and you've a perfect mission smile_o.gif

Updated to version 1.22

This is a minor update just to fix the error messages that major gandhi reported.

About the artillery: it's very strange as I've tested it seconds ago and all works fine for me. Try open the map first, then hit 0-0-X and then press SHIFT and ALT and click on the map.

I will begin to work on a really big update this evening, as i'm going to work, now. It should be ready within a couple of days.

New version (1.23) released.

This version comes with new features\fixes:

-Added "Slowdown" function to the CE with the speed reduced by 70% (thanks to major gandhi for his suggestion)

-Enemy units at Vanimo now desappears almost immediately: I've noticed that the AI has some difficults moving in urban areas and to cross bridges if they're cluttered by dead units. This should solves the problem of the tank that refuses to go over that d****d bridge. In addiction to this this should resolves the bug that in fact prevent enemy units to be deleted (not all the units will be deleted when killed, but I think it's better than having about 200 scripts running at the same time).

-Others bugs reported to me by the guys at the OFPEC should be fixed now.

-Briefing modified accordingly

However a new version is on the way, with some other features and fixes.

Hopefully the definitive version will be ready within a couple of weeks, depending on your feedbacks, too.

-Added a mobile marker to the attack choppers that track 'em on the map when they're called in action

-Fixed two bugs discovered by Mike of Preparation H

This one playable in multiplay?

Not planned, at least for the moment, mainly because I've no experience in MP editing (and neither in MP playing)..... confused_o.gif

OK, it's time for me to ask for help: I need volunteer that can fix the english version of the mission briefnig, of the overwiev and of the stringtable.csv file. xmas_o.gif

OK.

Since I haven't received any help offers for fixing the english traslation (I think it's not such a tragedy, after all....), I've decided anyway to post the new (1.25) version of Operation Weasel:

Version 1.25

-Added additional background music after seizing the airport untill you capture the bridge (1st objective)

-Added the "Drive Vehicles" option to the radio menu (it's a debug function: by selecting this you or one of your squad mates can jump in the trucks and jeeps as driver, in case the AI had difficults while crossing bridges and towns)

-Command Menu reorganized and fixed

-Solved the problem that occours when you restore the mission (helmets that disappears)

-Speed reduced now by 80% when you select the "Slowdown" function

-Fixed some bugs that were introduced with the previous upgrades

-Some (not alls, that's for sure....) of the grammar and sintax errors of the english version fixed

-Modified briefing accordingly

-Minor changes

If I will not receive any bugs report (or if I will not find anyone by myself) within a couple of days, this will be the final version of the mission that will be posted at the OFPEC.

I've no probs, both with JAM2 and 3. The new version has left unchanged this from the previous version.

Check your addons folders and search for eventual addons conflict.

In the ASZ_NeededAddons_1.zip, I see the PRPH sc70/90 1.2.rar but it's corrupt.  Could someone be kind enough to post PRPH's sc70/90v1.2 again? banghead.gif Does PRPH have a website?
