Raketa / Strela puzzle

Recommended Posts

I have made many an armed aircraft in past never experiencing this problem

The rockets fire from the centre of the vehicle and not from raketa or strela points.

The ammo and weapon cfg's same as usual. (everything is same as usual)

Any ideas on way the l and p raketa or strela in memory lod points are being ignored ?

I have tried shotrocket, missile.

Hellfire,zuni and maverick cfgs

retyped the cpp 3 times

reconstructed the memory lod 3 times.

cut'n'pasted ammo and weapon cfgs from several other models of mine.

I think I will just post Beta in "Addons and Mods Discussion"

then someone may fix from there.

thanks

I have just found out (but thats not to say everyone else knows this) that if you are missing a proxy in your p3d file then the launched item seems to first appear at the "centre" of the model, an in my model there is definately no memory points define near this centre, so it seems the engine just picks a centre spot if there is not proxy defined.

ie my weapon has;

 burst=4;

 multiplier=1;

if the 3rd proxy (.03) was missed (or typo'ed !) then that item (3rd bomb in my case) appears at the centre of the plane before falling.

Is this whats happening in your case ?

How to test? I suspect if you extend your tailfin 20 feet higher your "centre" moves and so should the launch point if thats the problem.

CSJ - I've found the problem. Remove the line:

maxControlRange =100;

from the CfgAmmo defintions for the Zuni rockets. Zuni's are

un-guided, and setting the control range non-zero makes them

go wrong. Hope this helps.

Gnat - _Anything_ that's badly defined will appear at the center

of the model. The most obvious case is the svetlo lights when

they aren't defined in the memory LOD. Same with kulomet for

planes as well.
