OFP basics

Hi to all OFP community,

I bought this game about July last year mainly from its reputation of being very realistic. I haven't played much, for various reasons, but now I have the opportunity and a dedicated server to put some time on it...and play some coop missions with my fellow members of the team, also new to OFP.

However, I would appreciate your help in some things:

1. I have the GOTY edition and the latest patch. But the graphics are a bit outdated. Would be any popular mods of modern warfare (us marines, M4s, humvees etc) that you could suggest? I know that the mods in this community is a bless or sometimes can be a curse...:)

2. Animations although in 1st person brillian in 3rd person not so brilliant. I have heard that there is an animation pack that improves the original game

3. Any coop missions? Again I'm looking for very simple stuff at the beginning...i would imagine that every mod has its own coop missions. I'm looking for 1-2 mods with very good coop missions...just to start...

4. Is there a dedicated server software that I can upload to the dedicated server...or I have to upload the whole game?

Flash FX Unit Replacement - replaces vehicles and soldiers for addons so you can play standard missions with nicer textures (and features). It also replaces the animations and I think the ones used are Sanctuary's animations (patrol version) - these rock.

You could try Earl and suchys marpart marines

that come with some nice weapons to

Marines and guns

And for the hummers try Combat website for more info and screenshots

i too have only revently discovered ofp. its v damn cool to play.

a plugin called dxdll or something really improved graphic look without much overhead.

also recommend the sancanim animations and EECP/y2k3/ flashFx unit replacement. they are all good.

also try finish defence mod. it is v well made.

are you the same tomcat as reality friends? if so i really enjoy your website (its where i 1st learnt about vsb1 which encouraged me to buy ofp GOTY edition)

Really looking forward to ofp2. with better graphics i hope as like you to me that is the games weakness (though its still pretty damn impressive for a 4 year old game) when compared to new games. gameplay and movement and dynamics wise it's much better than the other.

edit: is there any mod to replace their robotic voices...?

Nope... except FDF that gives the Finnish soldiers Finnish voices.
