Totala 0 Posted February 2, 2005 Hi everyone, addon makers and OFP fans ! I could not find a topic that would give me some links to the best sound packs around. I know there have been quite many, however I tested very few of them so far. Since my first real sound capable computer (a trusty AMIGA 500) I always thought the sound environment would make almost 50% of the immersion in a game ... I guess it is particularly true in OFP. Thus, it would be nice if you could all drop us a short post here to specify which sound.pbo you are currently using, a link for download, and eventually comments such as Pros and Cons. 1) Satchel's Dynamic Range Sound pack http://www.google.fr/ ...don't know where to get it from anymore Seems to be working fine with OFP 1.96, including for MPs. Sounds are nice, maybe a bit too much tweaked 2) Sams Sound Mod http://home.comcast.net/~vffsquad4/SamsSoundModRes.zip Trouble free with 1.96 and MP gaming. Nice and clear sounds. I don't like tank external sounds so much in this pack, but it's only a personal feeling ... 3) Battlefield Insane Soundpack Link Or BattlefieldInsaneSoundPack_v1.21.zip SoundBIS_1.7beta.zip SoundBIS_Revision1.61.zip You need the first file and one of the last two. 4) Mungers Battlesounds Link to Mungers Battlesounds Links courtesy of Benu : Battlesounds v1.1 Battlesounds v1.1 S 5) Kyllikki Soundpack Link to Kyllikki Soundpack 6) Community Soundpack and Rainbow Soundpack Link to MAAM topic 7) OFP:Elite sounds pack for OFP:Resistance Ti0n3r sound pack
Hudson 0 Posted February 2, 2005 Battlefield Insane Soundpack Its old but I still like it.
benu 1 Posted February 2, 2005 3) Mungers Battlesounds 4) Battlefield Insane Soundpack 5) Kyllikki Soundpack ...and lots of others. Soundmods are a matter of taste, you will find people supporting each and every of those soundmods. I quite like Dynamic Range, the new version from ECP/Zayfod. Edit: links added. Had to use google for those as the original site(s) don't seem to host those files anymore. If someone really can't find them anywhere i could host them too. Totala 0 Posted February 3, 2005 Please, feel free to add links and comments to your post ! If an addon is not a full replacement of the sound.pbo, then it's worth mentioning

Baphomet 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Anyone know of a working link for Munger's battlesounds?
EiZei 0 Posted February 13, 2005 Kyllikki soundpack is obsolete, all the new stuff has been bundled with FDFmod.
benu 1 Posted February 13, 2005 Kyllikki soundpack is obsolete, all the new stuff has been bundled with FDFmod. Yeah, but you can't use the finmod sounds without finmod. And as brilliant as the finmod is, we do not use it all the time. Anyone know of a working link for Munger's battlesounds? I am just now uploading it to our server. You will be able to download it from these links in an hour or so: Battlesounds v1.1 Battlesounds v1.1 S

Totala 0 Posted February 14, 2005 Benu> thanks for the links. What are the differences between v1.1 and 1.1S ? Btw, I probably read in this forum that there is an OFP patch for Audigy 2 sound board ? If it does exist, what for and anyone having experience with this patch ?
benu 1 Posted February 14, 2005 The difference is that the v1.1S version uses the m16/xm/ak sound from "S"atchels Dynamic Range: Quote[/b] ]Battlesounds 1.1 for Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis/ResistanceNOTE - there is a special version of Battlesounds 1.1 called Battlesounds 1.1S, which uses the M16/XM/AK sounds from Dynamic Range. If you have used Dynamic Range and prefer those effects to the ones in this pack, you can download it from http://hovmand.bonghjerne.dk/. By Munger Thanks for downloading. This sound mod is made up of a mixture of sounds from the original Resistance expansion, Satchel's Dynamic Range mod, Wright's Soundmod V12, Goeth's Sound Replacement v2.00 and his recent SoundAmonOFPRv11 pack. Most of the samples are in their original format but I have modified several of them using Cool Edit Pro to sound more realistic. Examples include the Abrams/T80 engine sound which has been amplified as I thought it was too quiet originally, and the heavy breathing sound when running, which has been quietened due to being very loud and somewhat annoying. There are no new sounds for the BMP 2 because although the wss files were in the pbo and could be changed, doing so had no effect on the in-game samples. Originally I intended to replace the new Resistance vehicle sounds as well but this proved impossible as they just use the original effects (e.g. the Hokum uses the Hind sample), and without a dedicated config.cpp there is no way around this. I also wanted to change the new weapon sounds as in my opinion they are very weak. This is one of the key improvements of v1.1 over v1.0, as the pack now includes replacement sounds for all the new weapons in Resistance. This mod will work in single player and multiplayer OFP, and will not activate FADE. Changes since v1.0: -new sounds for all Resistance smallarms -new AK sound -new fuel explosion sound -new go prone sound -new crash sound -new rearm/tank reload sound -new jeep engine sound -new get out of vehicle sound -various tweaks to several other sounds INSTALLATION -Copy the sound.pbo into your OperationFlashpoint\Dta folder and overwrite the existing sound.pbo (I recommend you create a backup first). -Copy the SoundAmon.pbo, m2a2.pbo, g36a.pbo, kozl.pbo and steyr.pbo and place them in the OperationFlashpoint\Addons folder, again overwriting the existing files (and again creating a backup). If you have Resistance, complete the above procedure, then also follow these instructions: -Copy the sound.pbo into your OperationFlashpoint\Res\Dta folder and overwrite the existing sound.pbo (I recommend you create a backup first). -Copy the SoundAmon.pbo, m2a2.pbo, g36a.pbo, kozl.pbo and steyr.pbo and place them in the Res\Addons folder, again overwriting the existing files (and again creating a backup). CREDITS -Satchel, for getting the whole thing going with the superb Dynamic Range pack. -Wright, for providing the foundation for my mod and replying to all my emails. -Goeth, for the Resistance, G36, Steyr and Kozlice sounds. -BIS, obviously. And afaik there is no ofp audigy patch, but there was talk lately about a tool to set pci latency for your graphics and sound card.
Thunderbird 0 Posted February 14, 2005 I've just tried the insane sound pack , it's very well done , so I'll use it for my mod

scruffy 22 Posted February 18, 2005 I just found a site with many soundpacks including the kyllikki pack, as the link in the first post doesn't work for me. Ranger Clan FTP soundpack links
benu 1 Posted February 18, 2005 Thunderbird84, you probably have a link then Why don't use the ones given two times on page 1 of this thread? I just found a site with many soundpacks including the kyllikki pack, as the link in the first post doesn't work for me.Ranger Clan FTP soundpack links Nice. I just checked, the link i found for the kyllikki pack with google does not seem to work anymore. I hope this one lasts longer. The Battlefield Insane Pack on that is incomplete though (it consists of two downloads). The one on that ranger site is the v1.20 without the resistance sounds. But the two links for BFI on page 1 work. I just downloaded from there. Here is mirror though: BattlefieldInsaneSoundPack_v1.21.zip SoundBIS_1.7beta.zip SoundBIS_Revision1.61.zip You need the first file and one of the last two. BlackScorpion 0 Posted February 18, 2005 Kyllikki soundpack is obsolete, all the new stuff has been bundled with FDFmod. Ah, so that's why all the BIS weapons sound different. Have they done any modif. to the weapon capabilities?
