searching for an addon

howdy guys

i hate to open a topic for that but i must..somehow.

search on the forums and on my addon cd´s didn´t bring up anything useful

what im searchin for is an old rifle addon.

it had 2 seperate visors which were available via ctrl key "change ammo".

i cant exactly remeber the name but i think it was something including "mag" ... also being a french weapon. but im not sure.

I was wondering if an AK with a scope existed, preferably with a scope that works like the M21's scope (zoomable), but with all three default firing modes (single, burst, full auto).

There are countless AK's like that.

The more recent being included in the orcs weapon pack 3.2;

I don't remember if it was actually equiped to a soldeir in the editor, so you'll have to try the clasnames from the readme. I think it was the AK74MO, but I'm not sure.

But there are also others. If I remember correctly one is also included in the old Kegetys russian weapon pack (old addon).

I think the weapons name is AK101 or something like that.

Hmm, just tried the Kegetys weapons pack, they're just what the doctor ordered... if they had a ZOOMABLE scope...

Is there such a version of the Kegetys weapons with a ZOOMABLE scope (like BIS default M21), or, if there isn't, can these scopes be configured as to work like those of M21 by editing the config file in any way? Yelp...

Unfortunately I don't remember any russian weapon like that.

They all use the SVD scope and hat scope is just like the BIS one no zoomable. But with a bit of config work that could be changed.

I assume the min and max zoom in the config are the same. Just change one of them to a different value and it's zoomable.

But I'm not sure (and highly doubt) if the real thing has a selectable zoom. I think it's just a fixed zoom.

I was wondering if there were any Mi-8s / Mi-17s out there that didn't have the rocket battery, all I've been able to dig up at ofp.info had the rocket packs (well I didn't check the big mods because I'm not into downloading a several-hundred-megabyte-mod just because of 1 or 2 addons that go with it). Also, is there any east/soviet T-55 NOT made by RHS? Their weapon config is just too much... thank you for any help, in advance.

Yes; there are some.

The CSLA mod has the best ones. Absolutely perfect choppers. It also has the best armed Mi-17's and the best Mi-24's.

This contains an unarmed Mi-8 as 'bonus'. It just the default BIS one with the BIS textures, but with the rockets removed.

You should really consider DL'ing the CSLA mod,IMHO.

It's not desertcamo. It's a brown camo most often used by naval infantry.

I haven't seen any Gurkhas. And if I haven't seen them than they don't excist

Than you get the Gurkhas, duh  

I only know of some pre-RES made by bibmi and also by Skaven. Don't know if there is still a working link, though.

no really good ones at least. The RHS ones are the only ones having good textures and stuff like that. It's not huge download (in total just under 25mb). So if you want high-quality T-55's better use the RHS ones. Here's the link to the latest T-55 pack;

Many full-replacement mods like the Y2K3 and FlashFX use RHS T-55's afaik. And if I remember correctly even FDF-mod uses the RHS model as a base for their T-55's.

But AK's don't have a burst mode, only single and auto, BIS added it either by accident, or from what I heard, to control AI's rate of fire
