mrbean1112 0 Posted December 30, 2004 Ok, i made a voice file, converted to ogg, edited the description.ext and place the sound file in mission/sound ok i can play the sound using the playsound command, but i cant get it for the saying command. ok i have a guy say something but i need it to come from his mouth. The sound file plays with the playsound command but not with the say command. When i try the say command nothing happens, no errors pop up or anything. What is wrong? Trenchfeet 0 Posted December 30, 2004 you need to genetate a lip file to go with the sound. you use the wav2lip program to do this and how to do it? go to this great site ofpec - editors depot
void_false 1 Posted December 30, 2004 Your file should be not less than 2 seconds. Otherwise OFP characters wont say it.
Winters 1 Posted December 30, 2004 Unless you have a sound editing program like sound forge or cooledit pro and add some silence to it to increase the length Also, if you are using WinXP you must put wav2lip in your main C drive. and not in C/programfiles or even on your desktop. redface 1 Posted January 3, 2005 it appears to me that the say command is slightly more choosy on the bitstream-type than the playsound command. (be sure to save to MONO) Nevertheless, in my experience a long soundfile (some minutes) used with "say" can more easily lock up or crash your game (I used longer say-files for a pilot's onboard "this is your captain speaking" talk)
