RHS Aerosan NKL-26

I'm not so keen to touch this addon anymore to be honest.

I'm really sure, you have "better" things to do.

Try to shoot with a gun at one side of the vehicle.

Bullets go through. Is this wanted?

MfG Lee rock.gif

This is actually indeed wanted. The whole vehicle (except for the front side) is made of plywood. And I doubt that plywood can stop any bullets. So I tried to simulate this vulnerability by making only the front part bullet resistend. In fact I know an even better way how to simulate this now. But it's a bit too late to change it. I'm not so keen to touch this addon anymore to be honest.

indeed. The front plate is a steel plate that gives it some armor. The rest is indeed made of plywood to make it light enough to actually move using the prop. And it's allways nice if it isen't too heavy for crossing ice  wink_o.gif

So the best way to use this is facing the enemy. Use the speed for hit and run attacks.

High quality addon as usual. Good job Sebastian!

note; anyone remember the MARV addon? This was a 'fun-project' based on the main body of this snowsled.

Both Russian snow vehicles are on the East side as well (which for all ww2 addons means the German side).

Maybe that's why? biggrin_o.gif

If that is true it is indeed a big translation error wow_o.gif

We will exchange it then of course

For this to make any sense, go to View. Then, "Encoding", and then select "Cryllic." That's assuming you're using IE. This will allow you to view the Russian wording properly. Edit:

Actually, the forums hate Cryllic wording so now looks just a disturbing conglomoration of rabid weasels running around on the keyboard with a spastic trying to kill them with a hammer.

OK, as far as I can figure out, from going over the NKL-26 in the editor at Shadow's behest:

There are eight spraypainted sayings on the side of the NKL-26. The four that involve the word "Fascist" or "Nazi" I'm having some difficulty with, since my Russian isn't fluent. But with the help of Alina, a Russian girl living in my hometown, I've managed to get through most of them. One of them is confusing the Hell out of us both, but that's OK.

1) нацистские убийцы - That would mean "Nazi Killers," but the way it's worded makes it sound almost as if the operators of the NKL-26 are the Nazis. However, if one has a partial understanding of Americanized English, it would translate as: "The Killers of Nazis."

2) освоьождениая хировская - This is the one that confused both me and Alina. As far as we can tell, it would mean "Freed from the Chiromancer." Now, a Chiromancer is the crazy sonofab*tch in the hut somewheres in Lousiana who reads your palm. Could also be translated as "Freed from the fortune tellers." For some reason, it's been put in the feminine form. We could (probaby are) wrong here.

3) беи фашистов - This means, quite simply: "Beat the Facist." Probably pluralized. I imagine a Russian trooper would spraypaint "Beat the shit out of 'em" instead, but there's only so many sayings on the side of this NKL-26.

4) саомим фашисти - This means something about Facists, but I don't think саомим has a really "nice" meaning to it.

I stand corrected, that's actually a typo in the Russian word. It's spelt самим, and means something more along the lines of:

"Oh those Facists."

What an odd thing to spraypaint on the side of a NKL-26, but meh.

The remaining four have nothing to do with Fascism at all, they are:

1) Mother Russia!

2) For the Motherland!

3) Motherland!

4) Stalinist

Now after going into the editor, and staring at the side of an NKL-26 for ten minutes, all the while jotting down what it said on the side and then exiting, then re-previewing to get the thing to refresh the side placard, I've found those eight sayings. And it's just those eight, as far as I can tell.

Maxpain, at no point does it say that the crew is Nazi. Your interpretation of the phraseology is saying that.

Unfortunately, since I'm not Russian and have not lived in Russia or a Russian-speaking area for most of my life, I do not understand the intracacies of the language that well. As such, what would mean "Nazi Killers" in English and be perfectly understandable as someone who kills Nazis, might mean in a Russian interpretation, Nazis who are doing the killing, rather than being killed.

There're 2 vars of translation. This is wrong one. They've to change this slogan for leaving just 1 correct mean...

I will agree with you. It should be changed as obviously the potential for it to be misinterpreted is too great.

Another wonderful WWII winter addon gang!!! All the areosans so far work great! I have seen how well they work in conjunction with each other first hand......it was pretty freaky.

Through many get in & join and lead waypoints ,I had a vast armada of troops and areosans moving across the frozen lakes of Emsalo_Winter. Soviet armor clashed with german armor and beat the germans to a pulp , but all russian tanks withdrew leaving a sizeable force of german infantry alive.

Almost like it was scripted ( but it wasn't) all the areosans descended apon the germans and slaughtered them even though they sat out the major armor battle.

I hope we can see more assault versions or even civi transports in the future.

Hehe and if bigfoot is reading this, your soviet WWII troops in winter camo would be a must have for everyone smile_o.gif

Yes. We now need Soviet troops in their ZMK winter camouflage overs. We've got the Soviets, courtesy of Liberation 1941-45 (At least we've got soviets from 1939-42), but no winter soviets. Something's missing, in a big way.

Very nice, combined with Winter Nogojev and the NO Mi-26 it's a cool scout vehicle behind the lines. smile_o.gif Top quality as usual.
