theavonlady 2 Posted December 1, 2004 Mission pack download link. This is just a small pack, for demo purposes only. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm working on much better things. Mums the word! Quote[/b] ]*********************************************************The Avon Lady's Lasey Daze Demo Mission Pack Version 1.10 ********************************************************* Copyright © 2004 The Avon Lady, all rights reserved. So there! A customized OFP mission pack, produced by The Avon Lady, of The OFP FAQ. The OFP FAQ: http://www.theavonlady.org/theofpfaq Email: theavonlady@theavonlady.org --------------------------------------------------- I've adapted two old OFP V1.30 user made missions that demonstrate the use of OFP's laser target designator (LTD) weapon in conjunction with Diesel's recently released GBU-12 version of his A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft addon. <span style='color:red'>These two missions mainly serve as coding examples for mission makers to study to produce missions that incorporate OFP's LTD weapon model. So don't be too disappointed at the simplicity of these mission's gameplay.</span> --------------------------------------------------- The mission pack contains the following missions: 1. Hog Call - Adapted from an LTD demo mission released anonymously a long  time ago, in which the player uses an LTD to guide A-10 planes to their  targets. 2. Strategic Strike (Diesel) - An almost untouched rendition of a mission  named Strategic Strike, written by OFP mission maker Spy, in which the  player pilots a GBU-laden A-10 to destroy ground targets designated by  US LTD troops near the enemy position. The mission Hog Call didn't even originally have a name, an overview page, nor a briefing page. In addition to including all of these, I also extensively modified the mission code, removing the JOIN AND LEAD waypoint for the A-10s, adding objectives, as well as mission scoring and ending logic. I even threw in a small intro cutscene for atmosphere. For Spy's mission, Strategic Strike, the only relevant change I made to the mission's code was with its fuel leak logic. I upped the minimum plane damage conditions after which the player's fuel level drops to zero. Other than that, I corrected grammar, spelling and formatting mistakes in the overview and briefing and I fixed some plane crash and bad angle camera bugs in the mission's cutscenes. If you have any recommendations on improving or correcting anything wrong with these missions, just email me and tell me so. The address is just below the top of this document. --------------------------------------------------- Requirements: 1. OFP version 1.96 or greater. 2. Diesel's A-10 Thunderbolt II addon, version 1.11 or greater.  http://www.filefront.com/?filepa....A10.rar  --------------------------------------------------- Summary Of Changes: 1.10 - In mission Hog Call, the incoming A-10's angle of attack from the north often delayed their dropping GBUs on lased targets, particularly the SCUD launcher. Plane waypoints changed to have them fly in from east/southeast of the enemy location. This seems to trigger GBU releases much sooner. 1.10 - In mission Strategic Strike (Diesel), changed the locked plane on the tarmac near the barracks from a standard OFP A-10 to Diesel's green GBU-12 A-10. 1.00 - Initial release. BoweryBaker 0 Posted December 1, 2004 Now that's what I'm talking about Avon. Â Personally, the announce of your mission pack brings back memories of a great asset to warfare. Â Soldiers working in conjunction with air power during combat operations not just for for full scale war, but perhaps even a navy seal unit lasing a target for something off of a carrier to come and hit during a special operation. An Air Force STT unit even.

Teh thread Edit: Played through your missions. First for some reason didnt work for me... I was waiting about 5 mins with that tube on a shoulder but these freaking A10s didnt drop anything. Were just flying around. Second was ok. When i finished 1st objective and was flying home, suddenly my fuel tank got empty So i ejected. Killed few fellows from east side, got old friend PK and 4x4 Landrover UAZ. And... u wont believe me! A10 survived teh hard landing!!! Engines were on fire but plane was in good form! I even took a screenshot.

I hit the time accelleration button twice. This would be the Hog Call mission. I'll see if I can do anything about that. Quote[/b] ]Second was ok. theavonlady 2 Posted December 1, 2004 Mission pack updated: Quote[/b] ]Summary Of Changes:1.10 - In mission Hog Call, the incoming A-10's angle of attack from the north often delayed their dropping GBUs on lased targets, particularly the SCUD launcher. ReadMe in this thread's 1st post has been updated to reflect the above. Download link is the same as before. I find it interesting that the angle of attack or the terrain affect the plane's ability to fire on the target in-game. I wonder if this can be scrutinized further to determine whether this is an AI limitation or a player will experience the same inability to pick up a laser target when flying in on a certain angle or the target is in certain terrains. Spy17 1 Posted December 4, 2004 Thanks for recyceling my old mission (Stategic strike). Have not played it for ages! I think it was the only mission I ever published... It was made for an older OFP version but it still seems to work OK! Nice A10 by Diesel!

I tried emailing you via what I thought was your forum member page here but it must have been someone else. As I mentioned in the ReadMe, the mission works as is even with the latest OFP version, usually that's true, though with choppers all sorts of thing have effected them since OFP's early days. Dusand, I think your problem is the hardcoded "setviewdistance 2000" statement in the mission.sqm file. UnPBO the mission, remove it and you should be able to play. Aha, that should be the problem. I am too lazy to learn how to unpbo a mission. But maybe in the future, I will do it.
